This person is responsible for the oversight DWM Holdings' quality in relation to raw materials, production process control, testing activities, continuous improvement, Lean/Six Sigma and post-production to ensure customer expectations are being met regarding quality, consistency and product performance. The position will report to the Quality Manager and work in partnership with Operations, Production, and Sales to implement new processes, identify and fix quality issues, ensure quality production runs, manage traceability documentation, and be a critical technical and quality expert and resource for internal and external customers.
Key Responsibilities:
Support of all functions of the Quality Control and Assurance System Develop, as needed, work instructions, procedures, process maps, working forms, etc., to support the build of quality product and processes Manage process documentation and adherence to quality best practices with
ISO 9001
Standard requirements as a guide Collaborate with engineering to define QA standards Non-conformance identification and corrective action documentation Internal and external audits to prove system effectiveness Ensure quality checks are integrated with ERP system Ensure part quality standards are met at all stages of manufacturing according to specifications on internal and/or external engineering drawings Inspect parts using PCMM and other standard metrology equipment for weights and measures (calipers, micrometers, depth gauge, gauge pins, Romer arm, etc.) keeping detailed records (weights, checklists, reports, etc.) in an organized, repeatable, and accessible manner Maintain neat and accurate inspection records (checklists, record logs, etc.), as required Maintains measurement equipment Managing product labeling and submits samples for testing Obtains QC forms and enters data electronically as required Reconciles final inspection documentation for release of product Educate production and engineering teams on quality control issues to improve overall production quality Provide clear and timely cross-functional communication around quality issues such as reporting findings on inspection reports, determining capability, understanding design intent, concessions, non-conformance, etc. Train and develop quality controls skills required across the team Strive to improve quality or enhance production by participating in problem solving process Ensure compliance to federal and state laws, as well as company standards and specifications Provide guidance and support for the Sales and Design & Specifications team in the creation of manufacturable, structurally sound, products
Skills:
CWI Blueprint reading Computer knowledge: Excel, word, write reports Physical demands: 8-10 hours on your feet Monday through Friday (5:15 pm - 1:45 am or 3:45 am) Working Saturdays may be required ( 1 pm - 7 pm) Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds occasionally Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus
Education:
Minimum High School Diploma; secondary or vocational education a plus Minimum of two (2) years of experience in quality control within a manufacturing environment Bachelor's degree in Welding Engineering or related concentration of study encouraged Experience working with an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system Knowledge of PLEX a plus Knowledge of basic math and computer skills are critical because measuring, calibrating, and calculating specifications are major parts of quality control testing Must be able to use specialized tools and machinery when testing products (calipers, micrometers, depth gauge, gauge pins, Romer arm, etc.) Must understand blueprints, technical documents, and manuals, ensuring that products and parts meet quality standards Ability to maintain safe work environment
