Quality Technician Thorud Inc. a Bloomington based manufacturer is seeking a Quality Technician. Our shop manufactures and delivers the highest quality products including military, defense, and aerospace. We are currently looking for a Quality Technician who is energetic, wants to make a difference and be part of a winning team.
Primary Responsibilities:
Be proficient in the use of precision measuring instruments such as dial indicators, fixed gauges, height gauges surface plate equipment and other manual measuring devices Proficient in the use of manual optical comparators 1st article, in-process and final inspections. Use of measurement/sampling plans/audits Gage R&R studies (key control variables/characteristics) Machinist Support and Training on quality items Knowledge of Material Review Board (MRB) procedures as required. Understanding of basic statistical tools, including CPk Secondary responsibilities: Operate existing programs on moderately complex part applications using Zeiss Contura and Calypso software from 3D solid models per requirements.
Preferred experience:
3-5 years' hands-on experience as a Quality Technician with experience in AS9100 and FAI. Zeiss CMM and Calypso experience Micro-Vu vision system Ability to operate standard office equipment. Knowledge and understanding of Microsoft Office products. Experience in Blueprint interpretation and GD&T Effective communication skills, and the ability to work with others in a team environment.
Blueprint Reading:
3 years (Required) Language skills: English as a business language is required.
Physical demands:
The quality technician is expected to spend equal amounts of time in an office and production floor environment. Lifting boxes up to 25# may occasionally be required.
