Quality Control Technician Liquid Soap Products - 3.4 Kansas City, MO Job Details Full-time $22 an hour 17 hours ago Benefits Health insurance Dental insurance 401(k) Paid time off Vision insurance 401(k) matching Employee discount Qualifications Interpersonal skills Laboratory experience Manufacturing facility experience Attention to detail Organizational skills Full Job Description Are you detail-oriented, dependable, and someone who takes pride in making sure things are done right the first time? Liquid Soap Products is looking for a Quality Control Technician to join our team in Kansas City, MO. This is a hands-on position responsible for quality control across our compounding and filling operations. You'll verify that products meet established specifications, perform first-unit and in-process quality checks, maintain accurate documentation, and report manufacturing work order completion in Acumatica. We're looking for someone who understands that quality, accuracy, and real-time production reporting are critical to our customers and our business.
What You'll Do:
Perform required quality checks on compounded batches before they are released to filling. Verify product specifications including appearance, odor, color, pH, viscosity, specific gravity, and other required standards. Review batch paperwork, formulas, lot information, raw material usage, scrap, and quality documentation for accuracy. Place nonconforming materials on hold and immediately communicate out-of-specification results. Collect, label, retain, and organize product samples as required. Perform and document first-unit checks at startup and changeover for applicable filling work centers. Verify the correct SKU, product, container, closure, label, lot/date code, case pack, and packaging configuration. Perform in-process quality inspections throughout production. Check fill weights or volumes, packaging integrity, label placement, coding, appearance, and finished-product quality. Identify defects or process drift quickly and work with production leadership to correct issues before additional nonconforming product is produced. Report manufacturing work order completion in Acumatica in real time as production is completed. Complete required production reporting throughout the day, typically at 9:30 a.m., 12:30 p.m., and 3:30 p.m. Verify completed quantities, scrap, material usage, labor, and other required manufacturing transactions. Reconcile physical production with system reporting and investigate discrepancies. Maintain accurate and traceable quality records. Identify, segregate, label, and communicate nonconforming materials or finished goods. Assist with quality investigations, root-cause analysis, corrective actions, and rework as needed. Support production when quality responsibilities are current and additional help is needed to achieve the production schedule. Assist across compounding, filling, packaging, material handling, and other production activities as trained and assigned. Follow all company safety, PPE, sanitation, housekeeping, GMP, and chemical-handling requirements. Maintain clean, safe, organized, and inspection-ready work areas. Assist with other quality, manufacturing, and operational responsibilities as needed.
What We're Looking For:
Previous quality control, manufacturing, compounding, filling, laboratory, or production experience preferred. Experience performing product inspections, measurements, or quality testing preferred. Experience with pH, viscosity, specific gravity, fill-weight, or similar quality measurements is a plus. Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy. Ability to follow product specifications, procedures, batch records, and work instructions. Strong documentation and organizational skills. Basic computer skills and ability to learn manufacturing and ERP systems. Experience with Acumatica or another ERP/manufacturing system is a plus. Ability to identify problems quickly and communicate quality concerns immediately. Ability to work independently while also being a strong team player. Comfortable working hands-on in a manufacturing environment. Ability to balance production urgency with quality and safety requirements. Dependable attendance and a strong work ethic. Someone who takes ownership and doesn't wait to be told every next step. Willingness to step into production and help the team wherever needed.
What You'll Get:
$22.00 per hour. Stable, full-time employment with a growing manufacturer. A Monday-Friday work schedule. Hands-on experience across quality control, compounding, filling, and manufacturing operations. Opportunities to learn, develop, and advance within the company. A team-first environment where your work directly impacts product quality and our customers. The opportunity to be part of a company focused on quality, performance, and long-term growth. Sound Like You? We're not looking for someone who just checks boxes on a quality form. We're looking for someone who takes ownership, cares about accuracy, catches problems before they become bigger problems, and understands that quality affects every product we manufacture and every customer we serve. If you have experience in manufacturing quality control and are comfortable working hands-on with both quality and production teams, we especially want to hear from you.
