SPS provides precision CNC machining and metal fabrication services, including CNC turning, Swiss machining, multi-axis CNC milling, metal sawing, sheet-metal fabrication, and prototyping. We serve customers across industrial manufacturing, food and agriculture, medical and pharmaceutical, government and military, oil and gas, and other demanding industries. As SPS enters our next stage of growth, we are seeking an experienced Quality Technician / CMM Programmer to join our team. The Position This is a hands-on quality position for an experienced individual who can take ownership of precision inspection from First Article through final inspection . Our climate-controlled Quality Lab is equipped with ZEISS CMMs , and this position requires strong CMM programming and operating experience. The successful candidate should be highly proficient in CMM programming, GD&T, blueprint interpretation, precision measurement, First Article Inspection, in-process inspection, and final inspection . SPS is also working toward implementation of ISO 9001 and AS9100 within the next 8-12 months . This individual will play an important role in the continued development of our Quality Management System. Primary Responsibilities Program, set up, and operate ZEISS CMMs for precision component inspection. Develop and maintain CMM inspection programs from engineering drawings and part requirements. Perform daily First Article Inspections (FAI) . Perform in-process inspections throughout CNC production. Perform final inspections prior to product release and shipment. Read and interpret complex engineering drawings, specifications, tolerances, and GD&T . Use micrometers, calipers, height gauges, bore gauges, indicators, and other precision measuring equipment. Analyze CMM and manual inspection results. Complete and maintain inspection reports within our Quality Management System (QMS) . Prepare and maintain Certificates of Conformance/Compliance (CoC) and customer-required quality documentation. Identify and document nonconforming product. Communicate quality concerns directly with CNC machinists, production personnel, and management. Maintain accurate and traceable inspection and quality records. Assist with calibration and inspection-equipment records. Support SPS's implementation of ISO 9001 and AS9100 . Assist with procedures, work instructions, document control, inspection records, and other QMS requirements. Work directly with CNC machinists to identify and resolve manufacturing and quality issues. Required Qualifications Proven CMM programming and operating experience. Experience in a precision CNC machining/manufacturing environment . Strong blueprint-reading skills. Strong working knowledge of GD&T . Experience performing First Article, in-process, and final inspections . Proficiency with manual precision measuring equipment. Ability to accurately complete and maintain inspection and quality documentation. Strong attention to detail, organization, and problem-solving skills. Ability to effectively communicate with machinists, production personnel, and management. Willingness to participate in continued manufacturer-provided CMM training . Highly Desirable Experience
