Job Description

Valdese Weavers is a 100% employee-owned (ESOP) company and has been in business for over 100 years. As one of the largest woven textile mills in the world, Valdese Weavers designs and manufactures residential and contract-grade fabrics for furniture manufacturers, fabric distributors, and large retailers. 2nd and 3rd shift do receive a shift premium of $1.00. We offer a $50 attendance bonus for every two weeks in which you miss no time, not including our shutdown periods. This bonus would provide an extra $0.62 to your hourly rate.
Job Summary:
Inspection of fabric during the weaving process.
Essential Functions:
Visually inspect fabric as it is being woven on looms. Stop off any loom when a defect is found, communicate with the Weaver, Loom Technician and Supervisor. 100% Inspect on Inspection frame as needed. Bypass fabric on Inspection frame as needed. Report defects/off quality to Weaver, Technician, or Weave Room Management. Work scheduled overtime.
Other Requirements:
Maintain 5 points or less within a 6 month period. Ensure a goal of .70% off quality is met daily.
Safety:
Perform all duties in a safe manner following guidelines established by Valdese Weavers. Report all job-related injuries and safety hazards to the supervisor immediately. Actively participate in safety programs that identify, investigate, and correct safety hazards. Maintain 5S standards. PPE as Required by policy and guidelines. Earplugs in Weaveroom.
Understand Loom Safety Qualifications:
Meet all pre-employment requirements. Basic reading, writing, and math skills as required by the position. Good communication skills with the ability to work well with others
