Job Description

This position is responsible for conducting ad-hoc audits for areas assigned and as business needs dictate, researching changes within State and Federal Regulations, regulatory agencies, and internal policies and procedures in mortgage servicing. This position will maintain an up-to-date understanding of servicing industry practices and relevant legal changes that may impact core mortgage servicing operations. Assist in procuring necessary research, supporting documentation and other substantiation for internal and external audits. This position will perform all duties in accordance with internal policies and procedures and all state, federal and investor guidelines.
Primary Duties:
Respond to internal and 3rd party audits including requests for supporting documentation necessary to complete reviews. Partner with management to prepare audit reports, including corrective action plans, in a timely manner. Communicate accurate, concise and constructive exception detail to servicing management and staff Follow quality control policies and procedures to ensure compliance with scopes of work Escalate any evidence of fraud and/or misrepresentation to management Self-report unresolved serious quality control issues monthly to agencies or investors as directed by management Communicate deficiencies identified in servicing monthly/quarterly reports and require remediation of errors Respond promptly to staff and management as a subject matter expert for the scope assigned Update and maintain position procedures quarterly. Responsible for training, implementation and ensuring procedures are written on new methods/products/projects. Participate in special projects, additional duties and responsibilities as assigned. Know by name and face as many customers and employees as possible, calling them by name as often as possible. Know and practice LOCBUTN, our Golden Rules, and Bell Bank Customer Service Standards. Know, understand, and live the company values and bottom line. Conduct activities consistent with established Bell Bank policies, procedures and systems, the Bell Bank Employee Conduct policies, the Bank Secrecy Act and all applicable state and federal laws and regulations. All employees are responsible for information security, including compliance with policies and standards which protect sensitive information. Prompt and reliable attendance. Perform other duties as assigned.
Job Skills Required:
Two to three years' experience in mortgage servicing. Good working knowledge of rules, regulations and policies relating to escrow accounts. Detail-oriented, organized, excellent problem-solving skills and math skills. Ability to prioritize, meet deadlines and work independently. Good communication skills to interact with other departments, lenders, customers, loan servicing staff, team leads and various county treasurers. Ability to be flexible and adapt well to change.
