SUMMARY:

The Quality Control Inspector will be responsible for performing all aspects of inspection on complex aluminum parts and final assemblies for the Aerospace and Defense industries. This is a critical role within the quality team and requires a detailed mindset. This role reports directly to the Inspection Team Supervisor.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Mechanical inspection of CNC-machined and brazed components
• Ability to interpret mechanical drawings using

ASME Y14.5M

dimensioning and tolerancing standard.

• Acts as a technical resource to production, addressing issues related to quality.
• Operate CMM for in-process and final inspections. Experience is a plus, but on-the-job training will be provided as needed.
• Under general supervision, performs visual, mechanical, dimensional, or functional inspection of raw materials, parts, assemblies, or final product in the production & assembly process, including final Inspection of machined components and completed assemblies.
• Dimensionally inspects product for conformance to specification using standard measuring devices such as micrometers, fixtures, calipers, dial indicators, comparators, oscilloscopes, fixed gauges, drop indicator, CMM, and various surface plate set-ups.
• Performs inspection tasks involving the use of a wide variety of test instruments, precision measuring devices and electronic equipment - as previously noted- to ensure compliance of parts and product with established specifications.
• Works from written and verbal instructions, procedures, blueprints, diagrams, statistical processes, or other control procedures.
• Assist Quality Engineers with follow-up on the execution of NCMR (Non-conforming Material Report), and CAPA(Corrective Action and Preventive Action) investigations as needed.
• Identifies workmanship and material defects. Initiates nonconforming material reports.
• Completion of inspection documentation
• Other duties as assigned

EXPERIENCE

• High School Diploma, or General Education Degree (GED)
• Practical understanding and application of GD&T is required,
• Attention to details is a requirement,
• Previous machine shop quality experience a plus
• Familiar with Microsoft Office
• Strong verbal communication
• Demonstrated ability to solve highly technical problems

The employee is frequently required to sit and to use a computer keyboard and a mouse for long periods of time. The employee will occasionally lift and/or move 25 pounds.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Office, Plant, Warehouse, or Remote locations: Work environment characteristics described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job in the Plant or Warehouse, the employee is exposed to noise and aluminum particles. The noise level is usually moderate, but hearing protection may be required in designated areas. The employee is required to wear safety glasses and steel-toed shoes when in the plant. Conditions in remote locations vary, depending on the job requirements, and will be discussed with employees as applicable.

Pay:

$28.00 - $34.00 per hour Expected hours: No less than 40.0 per week
