Job Title:
Quality Inspector Job Description The Quality Inspector monitors, measures, tests, and records data to verify that products meet customer specifications and internal quality standards. This role performs incoming, start-up, in-process, and final inspections, works closely with production teams to resolve quality issues, and ensures all required documentation is accurate, complete, and compliant. Responsibilities Monitor, measure, test, and record data to determine whether products meet customer specifications and internal quality requirements. Use engineering drawings and blueprints, gauges, comparators, vision systems, microscopes, templates, and other inspection equipment and aids to verify product conformity. Ensure all required process operations have been performed on products before release. Record all quality data and observations in the appropriate electronic or manual systems with a high level of accuracy and completeness. Maintain thorough documentation, record keeping, and clear communication related to inspection activities for all relevant personnel. Notify appropriate personnel when product defects or process problems are identified, or when product rejects exceed acceptable levels. Provide timely feedback to manufacturing teams when non-conforming product is identified to support immediate corrective actions. Work closely with and monitor machine and lead operators to ensure products consistently meet defined quality criteria. Determine product acceptability and respond to questions regarding quality and compliance with specifications. Sort and rework products that do not conform to customer requirements, ensuring all non-conforming product is properly documented, labeled, and clearly identified. Perform sampling and gaging of reject product as required to support root cause analysis and corrective actions. Keep work areas neat, clean, and organized, following all rules related to fire protection, safety, and environmental requirements. Follow all specifications and procedures for manufacturing, including process sheets, work orders, and any special instructions. Handle all materials, parts, and equipment properly to prevent damage and loss of finished product. Collaborate effectively with co-workers and respond professionally to feedback, contributing to a positive and productive team environment.
