Job Description
Hickory Harvest Foods, located in Akron, OH, is a 3rd generation family owned business. Hickory Harvest Foods is a leading provider of products to retailers in the multi-billion dollar and growing healthy snacks sector.
SUMMARY:
Monitor production floor with periodic safety and quality checks. Oversee product change overs and performs swabbing. Monitor product safety and quality through periodic HACCP checks and visual and sensory inspections of products. 2ndShift Hours:
2:30p-12:00a (may be required to train on an earlier shift)ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Holds responsibility for Food Safety and holds authority to initiate action regarding Food Safety. Take and log production retains Inspect, sample, and document inbound deliveries Take samples for EMP program-weekly Perform specified analysis and testing Manage the Hold and Release Program Executes Positive Release Program Ensure finished product meets or exceeds expectations and customer specifications Ensure that all food safety/quality policy and practices are being followed Enforce GMP policy adherence with entire team Report all major issues and non-conformances to management Manage sensory programs such as Daily Production Review and Product Cutting Pre-Operational checks Scale verification checks Hourly checks- metal detector checks, nitrogen testing, water testing for leaks, sensory checks, other package quality checks Initiates and completes foreign material investigations as needed Cleaning verification and equipment sign off Allergen swabbing GMP compliance monitoring Other duties as assigned, including but not limited to data entry and other production projects.Education:
High School Diploma or equivalentExperience:
1-2 years' experience in production environment, preferably food processing or pharmaceuticalSkills:
Attention to detail Critical thinking Excellent communication, interpersonal, organizational, and problem-solving skills Strong computer skills, especially Microsoft ExcelRELATIONSHIPS
Reports to the VP of Food Safety & Quality Assurance Works closely with Production, Customer Service, and WarehousePHYSICAL DEMANDS
