Full-Time Job Summary :
The Quality Control Technician is responsible for performing inspections, testing, and quality checks on incoming materials, in-process components, and finished products to ensure compliance with company standards and customer specifications. This role supports manufacturing and operations by identifying non-conformities, documenting findings, and maintaining records in accordance with internal procedures and regulatory requirements. The Quality Control Technician will be relied upon to perform duties either on site at OnQ or sites at Midwest local Supplier operations. Key Responsibilities 1. Quality Control- Oversee established QC process and work directly with the QC Manager to drive continuous improvement by utilizing lean techniques.
- Maintain a production traceability program that will enable tracking of production by day and line
- QC audit production for all first and last pieces of production while periodically inspecting 10% to 20% throughout the production process, inspecting up to 100% if requested.
- Identify and document non-conforming materials and provide assistance with rework.
- Prepare and post all QC documents to shared network.
- Work with QC Manager to help develop Corrective Action Responses (CARs) for any identified quality issues.
- Ensure recurring audits for shipping, receiving, and fulfillment activities are actioned while tracking quality control metrics for each.
- Work closely with graphics, engineering, shipping, receiving, fulfillment, and production departments to drive the QC process.
- Effectively communicate with all levels of management
- Action OnQ QC processes as well as assist QC Manager help develop and implement new processes.
- Assist with the development and implementation of high priority programs as needed.
- At all times, it is expected that you will help to establish the standard of performance by which all others are measured under the direction of the QC Manager 2.
Process Improvement:
Analyze departmental processes and identify areas for improvement. Develop and implement strategies to increase efficiency, reduce errors, and streamline operations. Collaborate with other departments to enhance overall operations. Identify process improvements and document processes related to receiving, shipping and distribution. 3.Reporting and Communication:
Communicate inspection results to production and quality teams promptly. Communicate effectively with all levels of management. Provide required reporting to meet quality standards Maintain accurate and detailed records of inspections, tests and findings.Required Education, Experience & Skills Education, Certifications and Experience:
- High School or equivalent work experience.
- 1-3 years quality control experience
- Previous Warehouse and shipping experience
- Thorough knowledge of production techniques Skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines consistently.
- Willing to help in all areas on the production floor and other depts.
- Work well within a team. Work Environment
