Quality Control Technician -
Night Shift Shift:
10:00 p.m.-10:00 a.m.
Pay:
$20-$21 per hour
Night-Shift Differential:
Additional $0.75 per hour
Bonus:
Eligible for a bonus every six months We are seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Quality Control Technician to inspect plastic-sheet products and ensure they meet established quality standards. This position is responsible for checking product appearance, dimensions, color, shrinkage, and overall quality throughout the manufacturing process. The ideal candidate will have previous quality-control, warehouse, plastics, or manufacturing experience. Candidates must be comfortable using a tape measure and micrometer, documenting inspection results, and working independently during a 12-hour night shift.
Responsibilities:
Inspect plastic sheets for surface defects and quality concerns. Measure material thickness using a micrometer. Check sheet length, width, and squareness with a tape measure. Use a color meter to verify product color. Test plastic shrinkage using an oven. Remove product samples from production lines for inspection. Accurately document measurements, test results, and quality findings. Count sheets and verify production quantities. Identify and report defective or out-of-specification material. Assist with cycle counts and inventory checks. Safely operate a tow motor when required. Use basic hand and power tools as needed. Maintain a clean, safe, and organized inspection area. Cross-train in other production areas to understand the complete manufacturing process. Follow all written safety, quality, and production procedures. Complete additional assignments as directed by management.
Qualifications:
Previous quality-control, inspection, warehouse, or manufacturing experience is preferred. Plastic-sheet extrusion experience is a strong plus. Ability to accurately read a tape measure and micrometer. Tow-motor driving experience is preferred. Forklift certification is a plus. Comfortable using basic tools, including hammers, circular saws, table saws, band saws, and nail guns. Basic math, reading, and writing skills. Basic computer skills are helpful. Strong attention to detail and accurate documentation skills. Good organization and time-management abilities. Ability to manage multiple responsibilities and work independently. Clear communication skills and ability to work with a team. Dependable and punctual attendance. High school diploma or GED required.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to stand and walk for extended periods. Comfortable bending, reaching, kneeling, crouching, pushing, and pulling. Ability to remove and carry samples weighing approximately 20 pounds. Ability to frequently lift and move up to 50 pounds. Heavier materials may require assistance or material-handling equipment. Sufficient vision to inspect product color, dimensions, surfaces, and defects. Ability to work safely around machinery and manufacturing equipment. Overtime may be required based on production needs.
