100% In-Office | Start time will flex from 5a-8a as they ensure lunches are covered in the lab. End time will flex from 1: 30p-5p. All days are 8.5 hours Join trak group in partnering with a growing client in Lebanon, Ohio that's expanding its Manufacturing team. Summary
Trak group is partnering with a growing manufacturing client seeking a Quality Control Technician to support precision inspection, testing, and quality assurance activities. This position is responsible for ensuring manufactured components meet internal and customer specifications through CMM programming, precision measurement, first article inspection, testing, and detailed quality reporting. The Quality Control Technician will work closely with Quality and Engineering teams to develop inspection methods, troubleshoot metrology equipment, verify product conformity, and support continuous improvement. This is a hands-on opportunity for an experienced quality professional with a strong background in CMM programming, GD&T, blueprint interpretation, and precision measurement.
Responsibilities Develop and implement inspection, testing, and evaluation methods. Create gauging systems and adapt existing inspection equipment as needed. Inspect tools, gauges, fixtures, machined components, and finished products for accuracy and functional performance. Set up, program, and operate precision measuring equipment. Determine appropriate inspection methods and perform complex inspection setups. Conduct First Article Inspections (FAI). Program and operate Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMMs) for first articles, production components, reworked parts, and receiving inspections. Verify finished products against technical drawings, customer specifications, and internal quality requirements. Assist Engineering with CMM programming and program modifications. Perform surface plate measurements using hand gauges, layout fixtures, and other inspection equipment. Perform routine maintenance and calibration of metrology equipment. Troubleshoot testing and inspection equipment issues. Record and analyze inspection and test data, primarily using Microsoft Excel. Identify deviations and provide detailed reports and recommendations regarding quality or product performance issues. Train team members on inspection techniques, equipment programming, and quality standards. Support continuous improvement efforts throughout Quality and manufacturing operations. Must-Haves Associate degree from a technical college or equivalent combination of education and experience. 3-5 years of quality/inspection experience. 3-5 years of CMM programming experience. Ability to program, set up, and operate CMM equipment. Strong knowledge of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing). Ability to read and interpret complex blueprints, schematics, inspection specifications, and technical documentation. Experience performing manual surface plate measurements using hand gauges and layout fixtures. Experience with precision measurement and inspection equipment. Strong mathematical and analytical skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel. Ability to identify quality issues, analyze data, and draw logical conclusions. Strong attention to detail and written/verbal communication skills. Preferred Experience with Mitutoyo CMMs and MCOSMOS. Experience with contracers and contracer software. Familiarity with Statistical Process Control (SPC) and quality data analysis software. Automotive or high-volume manufacturing quality experience. Experience training others on inspection methods, CMM programming, and quality standards. Work Environment Hands-on manufacturing and quality inspection environment. Regular standing, walking, and operation of inspection equipment. Ability to occasionally lift up to 35 pounds. May require climbing, bending, kneeling, crouching, and reaching. Exposure to manufacturing equipment, noise, airborne particles, chemicals, and other typical industrial conditions.
