Job Description
QA Lab Technician- 3rd shift (10pm-6:30am) Summary /
Position Purpose:
Responsible for all microbiological swabbing and plating performed in-house. Responsible for the monitoring and documentation of specified quality assurance testing. Accurate recording of activities on documents, and the understanding of HACCP, pasteurization, sanitation, allergens, and all food safety programs are required.Principle Accountabilities:
o Duties and tasks as assigned by manager o Comply with all Company policies including, but not limited to, Quality, Safety, Food Safety, Environmental, GMP's, HAACP, and Attendance. o Perform routine lab testing with accurate and timely recording of accurate test results and utilize lab reference materials o Understand and follow procedures of the department for the proper calibration and use of the department's equipment. o Understand and follow Good Manufacturing Practices for the care, handling, and storage of food products; and report any known or observed violations to management. Utilize HACCP philosophy and procedures in everyday work routine. o Perform environmental sampling procedures and pre-operational inspections o Follow and enforce laboratory safety procedures o Interacts with lab instruments, equipment suppliers and technicians as needed o Perform sensory evaluation o Raw material sampling and testing Experience /Competencies:
o Ability to read and interpret documents such as: food safety procedures, safety procedures, analytical procedures, microbiology procedures o Ability to interface with a computer and software applications o Must be able to work with a high degree of accuracy o Work with a team, as a team member, and as team leaderOther Requirements:
o Noise level usually low to moderate o Lift up to 50 LBS o Walking, climbing, and standing between 4-8 hours daily o Environmental temperatures range: -10F to 80F Organizational Relationships:
