Job Description

Quality Inspector -
Fastener Distribution Schedule:
Monday-Friday, 7:30 a.m.-4:00 p.m.
Hours:
40 hours per week with limited overtime We are a third-generation, family-owned company seeking an experienced Quality Inspector to ensure incoming finished goods meet established quality standards and customer specifications. This position involves highly detailed, repetitive inspection work. Many daily tasks are routine and may feel mundane, so the ideal candidate will be comfortable maintaining accuracy and focus while performing similar inspections throughout the day. Employees are expected to manage their responsibilities independently in a work environment that is not heavily micromanaged. Key Responsibilities Conduct visual and dimensional inspections of incoming finished fasteners using approved inspection methods and sampling plans. Use micrometers, calipers, thread gauges, pin gauges, height gauges, and comparators to verify measurements and tolerances. Read and accurately interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, specifications, and customer requirements. Verify products meet applicable API, ASTM, ASME, IFI, and other required standards. Complete First Article Inspection Reports (FAIRs), PPAP documentation, inspection logs, and non-conformance reports. Enter inspection results into quality databases or ERP systems accurately. Identify, tag, and segregate non-conforming products according to Quality Management System procedures. Ensure inspection and measuring equipment is maintained, functioning properly, and within its calibration schedule. Communicate inspection findings and quality concerns to warehouse, purchasing, customer-service, and management teams. Support corrective actions, process improvements, and the company's Quality Management System. Follow all company quality, safety, and documentation procedures. Required Qualifications Previous quality inspection experience, preferably involving fasteners, industrial components, manufacturing, or distribution. Working knowledge of micrometers and calipers is required. Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings is required. Strong attention to detail and the ability to remain focused during repetitive, routine work. Ability to work independently without constant supervision. Strong documentation, basic computer, and data-entry skills. Familiarity with ISO 9001, AS9100, FAIR, or PPAP requirements is preferred. This is a stable, full-time opportunity with a well-established, third-generation family-owned company. The position offers a consistent 40-hour schedule and a work environment that values accuracy, dependability, and personal responsibility. #INDJenAdv
