Temp-to-Hire Job Order #: 140739 Position Overview Stand-By Personnel is seeking dependable and safety-focused Small Equipment Operators / Metal Fabrication Operators for a manufacturing operation in Catoosa. This position is responsible for operating multiple types of fabrication equipment used to cut, shape, bend, bevel, and prepare metal materials according to customer and production specifications. This is a versatile fabrication position requiring candidates who are comfortable working with several different types of metalworking machinery rather than operating only one piece of equipment. The ideal candidate has experience operating at least three types of fabrication equipment, strong blueprint and measurement skills, and the ability to independently set up equipment and maintain accurate dimensions and tolerances. Required Experience & Skills Candidates should have experience operating at least three of the following:
- Band or production saws
- Press brakes
- Ironworkers
- Shears
- Manual beveling equipment
- Torch beveling equipment Additional requirements include:
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, and production documents
- Ability to accurately read a tape measure
- Basic math skills, including fractions and decimals
- Experience measuring finished components for dimensional accuracy
- Ability to set up and adjust fabrication equipment
- Strong attention to detail and quality workmanship
- Ability to identify obvious material defects or equipment concerns
- Ability to work with minimal supervision while maintaining productivity
- Strong communication and teamwork skills

- Strong commitment to workplace safety Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Operate multiple types of metal fabrication equipment
- Set up machines according to assigned production requirements
- Adjust equipment settings to achieve required dimensions and tolerances
- Review work orders and specifications before beginning production
- Read and interpret shop drawings and blueprints
- Select and position materials for cutting, shaping, bending, or beveling
- Secure materials appropriately before equipment operation
- Operate saws to cut metal according to required dimensions
- Operate press brakes to form and bend components
- Operate shears to cut sheet or plate materials
- Operate ironworkers for applicable fabrication processes
- Operate manual or torch beveling equipment
- Monitor machinery throughout production
- Identify material defects or equipment malfunctions
- Inspect completed components for accuracy and quality
- Maintain clean and organized work areas
- Remove scrap materials and debris
- Perform additional fabrication and production duties as assigned Fabrication Equipment This position may involve regular operation of:

- Material-handling equipment Candidates who can confidently move between multiple fabrication processes will be especially valuable. Machine Setup & Operation
- Review production specifications before setup
- Select appropriate machine settings
- Position and secure raw materials
- Adjust equipment according to material and dimensional requirements
- Monitor machine performance during operation
- Make adjustments when necessary to maintain accuracy
- Identify unusual machine conditions
- Report equipment malfunctions promptly
- Maintain safe operating practices throughout production Blueprint & Measurement Responsibilities
- Read and interpret fabrication blueprints
- Review shop drawings and work orders
- Identify required dimensions and tolerances
- Accurately work with fractions and decimals
- Measure raw materials before processing
- Verify completed parts using tape measures and other measuring devices
- Identify dimensional discrepancies
- Make appropriate machine adjustments when finished parts do not meet specifications Quality Responsibilities
- Inspect materials before fabrication
- Measure completed components for dimensional accuracy
- Verify parts meet customer and production requirements
- Identify material defects
- Monitor workmanship throughout production runs
- Prevent incorrectly fabricated components from moving to the next production stage
- Maintain consistent quality while meeting production goals Material Handling Depending on training and authorization, associates may also operate:
- Forklifts
- Overhead cranes
- Hoists
- Other industrial material-handling equipment Forklift and overhead crane experience are preferred. Preferred Qualifications

- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout 8-12 hour shifts
- Frequent bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, pushing, and pulling
- Ability to lift, carry, and move materials weighing up to 50 lbs, with assistance when needed
- Ability to climb ladders and maintain balance while performing assigned work
- Manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination required for machine and tool operation
- Ability to safely handle metal materials and fabricated components
- Comfortable working around moving industrial machinery and material-handling equipment
- Ability to perform physically demanding fabrication work throughout the shift Required PPE & Safety Candidates must be able to wear required PPE, including:
- Safety glasses
- Steel-toed boots
- Hard hats

- Hearing protection
- Additional PPE as required Work Environment
- Industrial metal fabrication and manufacturing environment
- Regular work around saws, press brakes, shears, ironworkers, beveling equipment, forklifts, and cranes
- Exposure to heat, cold, noise, dust, metal materials, and moving equipment
- Hands-on position requiring frequent machine operation, measurement, and material handling
- Stable Monday-Friday | 5:00 AM - 3:30 PM schedule
- Occasional Saturday work may be required
