The Quality Inspector is responsible for ensuring that internal and externally produced parts comply with all specified quality standards. This role involves sampling components, conducting inspections, and maintaining accurate documentation per MMP and customer requirements. The Quality Inspector plays a critical role in maintaining high-quality production standards by approving incoming materials, in-process production, and finished products.Duties & Responsibilities:
Inspection Duties Approves incoming materials by verifying specifications, conducting visual and measurement tests, and logging results in the ERP system. Rejects and returns discrepant materials to suppliers while ensuring proper documentation. Inspects in-process production, verifying compliance with specifications and communicating necessary adjustments to production supervisors. Constructs and maintains documentation including First Article Inspection Reports (FAIR) and Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) reports per AS9102 and customer-specific requirements. Inspects finished products, conducting visual and measurement tests, approving rework if needed, and verifying corrected products meet standards. Documents inspection results using forms, logs, and system updates to ensure traceability and compliance. Maintains measurement devices, following operational instructions and requesting repairs when necessary. Continuously enhances knowledge by participating in training and educational opportunities. Supports ISO/AS quality system compliance, contributing to process improvements and adherence to regulatory requirements. Customer Service Responsibilities Helps ensure strict adherence to customer service standards and satisfaction programs. Promotes clear communication of quality expectations among associates and suppliers. Assists in the rapid resolution of customer quality-related complaints. Ensures timely and professional handling of customer and supplier inquiries. Safety, Loss Prevention, and Procedural Compliance Supports initiatives to achieve associate safety and loss prevention goals. Reinforces adherence to company safety procedures and programs to maintain a compliant and secure work environment. Additional Responsibilities Communicates with management to ensure operational compliance with company standards and policies. Compiles and tracks rejection data, providing reports and analysis as needed. Supports PiWeb/Mini-tab customization per customer and supervisor requirements.Required Skills & Abilities:
Strong attention to detail with expertise in visual and dimensional inspection techniques. Excellent communication skills, capable of collaborating with cross-functional teams. Ability to interpret technical documentation, blueprints, and specifications. Familiarity with ERP systems for quality tracking and reporting. Solid understanding of ISO/AS quality standards and compliance processes.Education & Experience:
Experience in quality inspection, preferably within manufacturing or machining environments. Working knowledge of AS9102 FAIR and PPAP documentation requirements. Familiarity with customer-specific quality requirements and auditing processes.Physical Requirements:
Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.Hours for the position:
