Job Summary We are looking for a detail-oriented and proactive Food Safety Quality Assurance Auditor to join our manufacturing team. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring that all food production processes meet strict safety and quality standards. Your keen eye for detail, combined with your knowledge of regulatory requirements, will help maintain the integrity of our products and uphold compliance with industry regulations. 2nd shift (3pm-12am), Saturdays as needed Position Summary The FSQA (Food Safety & Quality Assurance) Technician is responsible for supporting food safety, product quality, and regulatory compliance throughout the manufacturing process. This is a hands-on position that works primarily on the production floor to monitor operations, inspect products and processes, identify potential food safety or quality concerns, and ensure established standards and procedures are consistently followed. The FSQA Technician partners closely with Production, Sanitation, Maintenance, Laboratory, and other departments to investigate issues, implement corrective actions, and maintain a safe, compliant, and high-quality food manufacturing environment. This position is approximately 80% production-floor work and 20% documentation, reporting, and administrative responsibilities. Key Responsibilities Food Safety & Regulatory Compliance Monitor production processes to ensure compliance with company food safety programs, USDA requirements, HACCP plans, sanitation procedures, and established FSQA policies. Perform required food safety and quality checks throughout production. Monitor Critical Control Points (CCPs) and other process controls as assigned. Verify that established food safety procedures, specifications, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) are being followed. Identify potential food safety risks, process deviations, or noncompliance and escalate concerns appropriately. Maintain accurate and timely documentation required for food safety and regulatory programs. Production Floor Inspections Conduct routine inspections and audits throughout production areas. Perform pre-operational and operational inspections to verify that equipment, production areas, and processes meet established sanitation and food safety requirements. Evaluate production conditions and employee practices for compliance with GMPs, sanitation requirements, and food safety procedures. Verify that products and processes meet established quality and safety specifications. Communicate identified concerns to Production, Sanitation, Maintenance, and FSQA leadership and follow through until appropriate action has been taken. Product Quality Monitor product quality throughout the manufacturing process to ensure products meet company and customer specifications. Conduct product evaluations, measurements, inspections, and other quality checks as required. Identify product or process deviations and assist in determining the appropriate disposition or corrective action. Help ensure that potentially nonconforming product is properly identified, controlled, and evaluated. Monitor recurring quality issues and communicate trends to appropriate leadership. Investigations & Corrective Actions Participate in investigations involving food safety concerns, quality issues, process deviations, product incidents, and customer complaints. Gather relevant information and documentation to assist in determining root cause. Partner cross-functionally with Production, Sanitation, Maintenance, Laboratory, and other teams to resolve issues. Support corrective and preventive actions designed to prevent recurrence. Verify that corrective actions have been completed and appropriately documented. Escalate significant or recurring food safety and quality concerns to FSQA leadership. Sanitation & Pre-Operational Verification Conduct or support pre-operational inspections before production begins. Verify cleanliness and sanitary condition of equipment and food-contact areas. Identify sanitation deficiencies and communicate required corrective actions. Work closely with Sanitation and Production teams to ensure areas are ready for safe production. Support ongoing sanitation verification and contamination-prevention efforts. Documentation & Reporting Complete food safety, quality, inspection, audit, and verification records accurately and on time. Maintain organized documentation in accordance with company and regulatory requirements. Document deviations, investigations, corrective actions, and follow-up activities. Enter or review information in applicable company systems, including SAP or other quality/production systems as required. Assist with identifying trends in quality, sanitation, food safety, or production data. Cross-Functional Partnership The FSQA Technician works closely with multiple areas of the operation and must be able to communicate effectively with employees at all levels.

Production/Operations Sanitation Maintenance Laboratory Warehouse/Logistics FSQA Leadership Plant Leadership Regulatory personnel, as applicable The successful candidate must be comfortable communicating concerns, asking questions, and holding processes accountable to established standards while maintaining productive working relationships across departments. Qualifications Experience Approximately 1-2 years of experience in food safety, quality assurance, quality control, food manufacturing, or a related environment preferred . Experience in meat, pork, beef, poultry, protein processing, refrigerated foods, ready-to-eat foods, or another USDA/FDA-regulated manufacturing environment is highly desirable. Previous experience performing inspections, audits, quality checks, food safety monitoring, or production-floor verification is preferred. Education High school diploma or equivalent required. Associate or bachelor's degree in Food Science, Animal Science, Meat Science, Biology, Chemistry, Microbiology, Agriculture, or a related discipline is preferred. Relevant industry experience may complement formal education. What Success Looks Like A successful FSQA Technician becomes a trusted resource for food safety and quality within their assigned production area. The individual understands the operation, recognizes potential problems early, documents findings accurately, communicates concerns effectively, and works collaboratively with Operations and supporting departments to ensure issues are resolved. Over time, the technician should develop strong knowledge of the assigned production area and become a subject-matter resource for its food safety, quality, sanitation, and process requirements.
