We're looking for a Quality Control Technician to join our growing team and play a critical role in maintaining the highest standards in fabrication, welding, and mechanical construction projects. In this role, you'll work alongside skilled fabricators, welders, engineers, project managers, and customers to inspect, verify, and document quality throughout the manufacturing process. What You'll Do Inspect and Verify Quality Perform receiving, in-process, and final inspections of fabricated assemblies, pressure vessels, piping systems, structural components, and welded products. Verify compliance with customer specifications, engineering drawings, material requirements, welding procedures, and applicable ASME standards. Conduct dimensional inspections using precision measuring equipment including calipers, micrometers, levels, squares, and other inspection tools. Verify material traceability, heat numbers, and material certifications. Ensure welding activities are performed in accordance with approved Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS) and applicable ASME codes and standards. Manage Quality Documentation Maintain accurate inspection reports, weld maps, material traceability records, and quality documentation. Compile turnover packages and project closeout documentation for customers. Assist with Manufacturing Data Reports (MDRs), welder qualification records, and ASME documentation requirements. Ensure all quality records are complete, organized, and maintained according to company procedures. Resolve Quality Issues Identify and document nonconforming materials, welds, or fabrication activities. Generate and track Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs). Partner with production teams, engineers, project managers, and customers to resolve quality concerns. Participate in root cause analysis and corrective action initiatives. Support Compliance & Continuous Improvement Assist with internal, customer, and third-party audits. Support compliance with ASME requirements, welding standards, and quality management systems. Help improve inspection processes, reduce rework, and increase operational efficiency. Train and coach team members on quality expectations and best practices. Maintain Inspection Equipment Verify calibration status of measuring and inspection equipment. Coordinate calibration and repair activities when necessary. Ensure inspection tools remain accurate and compliant. What We're Looking For Required Qualifications High School Diploma or GED. Valid driver's license and reliable transportation. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, fabrication drawings, P&IDs, specifications, and welding documentation. Strong attention to detail, organization, and communication skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and electronic quality records. Qualifications 3+ years of experience in quality control, welding inspection, fabrication, manufacturing, or industrial environments. Working knowledge of welding processes including:
SMAW GMAW FCAW GTAW
Knowledge of:
ASME Boiler & Pressure Vessel Code ASME B31.1 and
B31.3 AWS
Standards Material traceability and weld mapping Experience working within an ASME quality program.
ISO 9001
quality system experience. Preferred Certifications AWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) certification or the ability to obtain certification. Why Join Us?
