Job Purpose This team member is responsible for assisting in all aspects of monitoring and verification activities for company HACCP, SQF, and other food safety and quality programs. This team member must be confident and capable of working within a team structure, handling daily assignments both independently and inter-departmentally between quality assurance and production team members. Duties and Responsibilities Primary job duties and responsibilities include: Conduct HACCP and SQF-related monitoring and verification activities, including: product control checks, product audits, product and room temperature checks, cooking and chilling CCP verifications, pest control observations, pre-shipment reviews, microbiological swabbing, and other processing procedural checks, as directed by FSQA management. Maintain and review company HACCP, SQF, and other program monitoring records and documentation to ensure all program documentation is accurate and up to date. Perform overall monitoring of SOPs, including performing record reviews and deviation investigations when necessary. Perform all sanitation-related monitoring activities, including chemical titrations, ATP/APC swabbing, verification of meeting SSOPs, and other sanitation oversight activities, if placed into the 3rd shift position. Monitor employee GMP practices and communicate observations to plant management. Demonstrate ability to communicate effectively with team members and management. Demonstrate ability to learn new tasks and information. Demonstrate confidence in decision-making and take responsibility for your actions. Demonstrate confidence in decision-making. Qualifications Minimum qualifications required to perform the job successfully include:
Education:
High School Diploma or GED required.
Experience/Skills/Knowledge:
Have basic knowledge and understanding of food and/or meat processing, quality assurance programs, GMPs, SQF and HACCP, preferred. 1-3 years of experience working in the meat/poultry or food processing industry. Must have sufficient computer skills and be able to independently write reports, manage Microsoft Excel spreadsheets, and be able to be trained in Microsoft Access database usage. Working Conditions Exposure to an environment that is wet, very humid and undergoes temperature changes, from hot to cold. Fast-paced environment working around heavy meat processing equipment. Physical Requirements Ability to lift up to 50 pounds. Ability to identify and distinguish colors. Must be able to perform extensive walking and standing throughout the shift, daily.
