Job Description

Quality Technician supports production, assuring operational quality by monitoring process parameters, inspects & verifies parts and/or documents and resolves discrepancies or issues.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities:
Compares product with parts list or sample model to ensure completion of assembly. Verifies specified dimensions of product or material. Rejects defective parts, and marks type of defect on part, container of parts, or inspect tag, process or reject tags. Interprets engineering drawings, diagrams and confers with management or engineering staff to determine quality and reliability standards. Selects products for tests at specified stages in production process, and tests for variety of qualities such as dimensions, performance and mechanical characteristics. Operates any diagnostic equipment needed to perform job. Collects, interprets and reports data. Initiates action to prevent the occurrence of any non-conformities relating to product, process or quality system. Coordinates end of line inspection and maintains documentation. Trains production and quality personnel on quality requirements. Coordinating containments in production, inspection and shipping. Supporting in customer and vendor complaint management. Participation in measurement system analysis (MSA) studies. Maintains a positive and optimistic outlook. Effectively interacts with internal customers and external contacts including customers, suppliers, and transportation workers. Communicate effectively with all levels of Borgers organization. Other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Knowledge and implementation of general safe work practices Strong interpersonal skills Models effective attendance Proven problem-solving abilities Math skills including add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals, and able to compute rate, ration and percent. Ability to change and embrace change Self-starter with ability to prioritize multiple projects and customers Good organizational and planning skills Ability to work independently and as part of a work group or team Able and willing to work in a manufacturing plant environment, including variable shifts and work days Solid working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications Possess good verbal and written communication
