$85,000 - $120,000 Relocation assistance available for non-local candidates

•This role requires U.S. citizenship to meet ITAR compliance requirements as defined by 22 C.F.R. §120.15.

•We are seeking a Manufacturing Engineer specializing in CMM programming, CNC machining, and in-process metrology to support precision aerospace component production. This position will integrate measurement systems with machining processes to improve quality, reduce scrap, and enable real-time process control. The ideal candidate is a hands-on metrology expert who can independently program CMM equipment, analyze measurement results, and communicate actionable feedback to CNC programmers and manufacturing teams. While CNC knowledge is important, this is not primarily a CNC programming position. This is a direct-hire, fully on-site opportunity in Tennessee. Remote work is not available. Key Responsibilities CMM Programming and Metrology Develop, modify, and troubleshoot CMM inspection programs using PC-DMIS or comparable software. Program and support Hexagon CMM and metrology systems. Create measurement routines for dimensional, positional, and form characteristics. Analyze CMM data and translate results into clear recommendations for manufacturing teams. Coordinate CMM inspection strategies with on-machine probing and in-process measurement. Ensure alignment between CMM inspection results, engineering drawings, and machining processes. CNC Machining and Process Development Develop, optimize, and validate on-machine metrology processes for CNC milling operations. Integrate probing, laser scanning, and other measurement cycles into machining workflows. Work closely with CNC programmers, machinists, and quality engineers to resolve process issues. Use measurement feedback to improve machining accuracy, first-pass yield, cycle time, and throughput. Support closed-loop manufacturing by communicating measurement results and corrective-action requirements to CNC programmers. Inspection and Quality Assurance Develop inspection strategies for in-process and final verification. Interpret GD&T requirements and ensure compliance with engineering drawings. Conduct root-cause analysis for dimensional nonconformances. Evaluate process capability using Cp, Cpk, and related statistical methods. Support precision manufacturing processes involving tight aerospace tolerances. Data Analysis and Continuous Improvement Analyze measurement trends to identify variation and process-improvement opportunities. Develop reports or dashboards for key quality and manufacturing metrics. Lead continuous-improvement projects focused on reducing scrap and improving first-pass yield. Promote data-driven decision-making across engineering, quality, and manufacturing teams. Required Qualifications Five or more years of hands-on CMM programming and metrology experience preferred; candidates with fewer years may be considered based on technical proficiency. Demonstrated ability to independently program CMM equipment-not solely operate existing programs. Experience using PC-DMIS or comparable CMM programming software. Experience with Hexagon metrology systems or similar platforms. Working knowledge of CNC machining, preferably CNC milling. Strong understanding of GD&T, blueprint reading, and precision measurement. Ability to capture, analyze, and clearly communicate measurement data. Strong problem-solving, collaboration, and communication skills. Bachelor's degree in manufacturing engineering, mechanical engineering, or a related field preferred; equivalent hands-on experience will be considered. Preferred Qualifications Aerospace or similarly regulated precision-manufacturing experience. Experience integrating CMM inspection with on-machine probing systems. Familiarity with Hexagon probing, sensors, and metrology software. Experience with comparable platforms such as Blum or Verisurf. Familiarity with CATIA, Siemens NX, Mastercam, or similar CAD/CAM software. Knowledge of SPC and process-capability analysis. Experience with closed-loop manufacturing, automation, or Industry 4.0 technologies. Strong 3D design or model-based manufacturing experience. Benefits Highlights Retirement benefits as part of the total compensation package. Flexible start and end times within the facility's operating schedule. Limited overtime and an organizational commitment to work-life balance. Career advancement opportunities with title flexibility based on experience. Stable, collaborative aerospace environment with a strong engineering culture.
