The Opportunity The Material Handler position will provide onsite logistical and building maintenance support. The Material Handler must have good customer service skills. Basic computer skills, including familiarity with Microsoft software, will support the successful candidate. The ability to work independently and be a responsible self-starter is essential for success in this position. Knowledge Inventory Management Understanding of inventory control processes and terminology Order Fulfillment Understanding of order workflows and material movement protocols Quality Control Understanding of quality standards and common defects Banding and Securing Materials Understanding of secure packaging techniques and safety standards Forklift Operation Certification requirements and safety rules Emergency Restoration Support Basic understanding of utility restoration needs during outages Workplace Safety Awareness Knowledge of OSHA regulations, PPE standards Communication Understanding of workplace communication channels and expectations Manual Labor Knowledge of physical demands and safety measures for lifting/moving Skills/Abilities Work under direction of warehouse lead Pulling and issuing material for construction and maintenance projects Inspecting material Transferring material Replenishing material Processing orders Performing quality control Performing inventory auditing/accounting functions Performing routine maintenance Preparing for disposal of materials Recycling and salvaging materials Supporting other warehouse workloads as required Performing general housekeeping, cleaning and sweeping daily or as needed Data entry Why On-Target? Minimum Qualifications:
High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) Basic computer skills, including familiarity with Microsoft software Forklift Certified Willingness to learn Must be able to work overtime as necessary Physical & Work Environment Fast-paced stockroom environment and requires regular physical activity, including frequent walking, standing, bending, lifting materials, and occasional use of forklift equipment. Must be able to stand, walk and sit over 2/3 of the time Must be able to use hands to finger, handle or feel over 2/3 of the time Must be able to reach with hands or arms over 2/3 of the time Must be able to climb or balance under 1/3 of the time Must be able to stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl over 2/3 of the time Must be able to talk and hear clearly Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds over 2/3 of the time Must have a depth perception (three-dimensional vision, ability to judge distances and spatial relationships) Must be able to work in high, precarious places under 1/3 of the time Must be able to perform around toxic or caustic chemicals under 1/3 of the time Must be able to work in outdoor weather conditions over 2/3 of the time Must be able to endure loud noise (
