QUALITY INSPECTOR
ELECTRONICS
| BSU Inc. | Austin, TX 78754 | Full-time, Hourly
ABOUT BSU INC. BSU
Inc. is a growing electronics manufacturing and design company delivering high-reliability assemblies to government, defense, and commercial customers.
THE OPPORTUNITY
We're looking for a detail-oriented Quality Inspector with solid PCB and electronics assembly inspection experience. You'll verify workmanship across circuit card assemblies, component box builds, and bonding operations.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
Inspect PCBs and circuit card assemblies for
IPC-A-610
workmanship compliance using microscopes, calipers, and micrometers. Inspect SMT components (fine-pitch, QFN, QFP) and through-hole solder joints. Perform visual, cosmetic, dimensional, and fit/function inspections. Inspect component box assemblies and bonding operations. Log daily defects accurately and issue corrective action documentation as required. Read and interpret BOMs, routers, work instructions, and assembly drawings. Maintain ESD-safe practices and a safe, organised work environment.
WHAT YOU BRING
5+ years of electronics manufacturing experience including PCB inspection — required. Strong working knowledge of
IPC-A-610
; IPC CIS certification is a significant advantage. Ability to identify passive and active electronic components (resistors, capacitors, diodes, ICs, etc.). Experience with ESD-safe handling procedures. Familiarity with J-STD-001 or Mil-spec certification is beneficial. Proficient in Microsoft Excel for defect logging and reporting. Strong written and spoken English; bilingual (Spanish/English) is a plus.
EDUCATION
High school diploma or equivalent required. Associate degree in Electronics Technology or Quality Management preferred.
