Job Summary The Quality Assurance Technician supports quality assurance, food safety, and continuous improvement initiatives within a manufacturing environment. This role plays an important part in identifying and resolving quality issues through inspections, investigations, process monitoring, nonconforming material disposition, audits, and the development of inspection plans and work instructions. The Quality Assurance Technician works closely with Quality Engineers, Quality Analysts, Production teams, and other cross-functional partners to ensure products and processes meet internal, customer, regulatory, and food safety requirements. Key Responsibilities Perform dimensional, visual, and functional inspections of products and nonconforming materials to determine appropriate disposition and ensure compliance with established quality requirements. Develop and maintain Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) , monitor quality metrics and dashboards, identify trends, and use quality and statistical tools to support continuous improvement and food safety initiatives. Ensure the proper use, calibration, and maintenance of measurement and test equipment . Investigate customer and internal quality complaints, identify root causes, and support the implementation of corrective and preventive actions. Conduct routine process, product, and quality system audits to verify compliance with established procedures and requirements. Support the Quality and Compliance departments with projects and initiatives designed to improve product quality, process performance, compliance, and food safety. Assist with the development and maintenance of inspection plans, procedures, work instructions, and other quality documentation . Support the evaluation and disposition of nonconforming materials in accordance with established procedures. Collaborate with Production and cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for process improvement and prevent recurring quality issues. Preferred Qualifications Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred. Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field from an accredited institution, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience with quality management systems and manufacturing systems , such as AS400 or similar platforms. Experience supporting or leading initiatives related to supplier quality, manufacturing quality, food safety, or continuous improvement . Experience in a manufacturing, food production, or regulated environment is preferred. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Intermediate understanding of structured problem-solving methodologies , including Six Sigma, 8D, Root Cause Analysis, and related statistical tools. Ability to analyze quality data, identify trends, investigate problems, and support or lead improvement projects. Basic knowledge of ISO standards, GFSI requirements, and Quality Management Systems (QMS) . Ability to perform product, process, and food safety system audits using process-auditing techniques. Experience using gauges, measurement devices, and inspection equipment to perform dimensional analysis. Strong attention to detail and ability to accurately interpret engineering drawings, specifications, work instructions, and manufacturing documentation . Strong communication, collaboration, and teamwork skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 , including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and manage multiple priorities.
Pay:
$18.00 - $20.00 per hour
