Job Description
Job Summary This position will produce raw materials, in the form of cast, rolled and drawn materials to specifications to support manufacturing across all plants (i.e., alloys, casting grain, alloys, sheet, wire and tubing). Essential Functions
- Performs mill products processes as required across the designated core areas. Associates are expected to learn all core areas and must achieve full proficiency in at least three (3) of the following areas: o Flat Stock Fabrication o Wire Fabrication o Tube Fabrication o Foundry o Lab Analytical (XRF, Oxygen analyzer and Tensile tester)
- Performs 100% of the raw material processes as required in three (3) of the raw materials areas and have basic knowledge and skills equal to 50% in two (2) of the remaining areas.
- Coordinates material needs and scheduling through Mill Products Vault.
- Produces mill products as needed and prepares materials for entry into the Mill Products Vault.
- Verifies materials quality utilizing analytical equipment.
- Understands properties of the precious metal alloys such as alloy compositions, melting temperatures, melting/solidification characteristics, metal working and heat treating.
- Balances material weights to ensure inventory is accurate.
- Maintains inventory of consumable materials.
- Documents and maintains processes related to the work area.
- Reports any equipment or material problems to supervisor or manager. Minimum Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to safely use measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, and tape measure to measure materials to specifications.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions related to process and equipment setup.
- Ability to adhere to and maintain established processes and procedures.
- Ability to safely lift up to 50lbs with appropriate equipment and/or assistance.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to quickly learn new technology. Preferred Qualifications
- Prior mill working experience.
