Company:
Translarity provides full wafer test solutions to the semiconductor industry. We are located in Fremont CA, Hutto, TX, Taiwan, and the Philippines. This is a full-time role in the Hutto, TX office and will report to Quality Assurance Manager. What is a Probe Card? A probe card is a critical component in semiconductor testing, acting as the interface between automated test equipment and the semiconductor wafer. These assemblies often include complex multi-layer PCBs with tens of thousands of routed traces and thousands of discrete components, supporting mixed-signal, high-speed, RF, and power-delivery paths. Precision and electrical integrity are essential for accurate wafer-level testing.
Position Purpose:
Translarity is in an aggressive growth phase and is seeking this role to help deliver state-of-the-art wafer test solutions to the world's leading semiconductor manufacturers and their suppliers. The QA Inspector is responsible for performing inspections and measurements of incoming materials, components, in-process work, and finished products to verify conformity with engineering drawings, specifications, work instructions, and established quality requirements. The QA Inspector accurately documents inspection results, identifies and communicates nonconformances, maintains traceability of quality records, and supports the organization's quality management system and continuous improvement activities. The position requires a high level of attention to detail, accuracy, consistency, and the ability to work effectively with Production, Engineering, and Quality personnel in a precision manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities will include:
  • Perform incoming, in-process, and final inspections of materials, components, assemblies, and finished products in accordance with engineering drawings, specifications, work instructions, and inspection requirements.
  • Perform dimensional, visual, and functional inspections using appropriate precision measurement and inspection equipment, such as microscopes, calipers, micrometers, height gauges, and optical measurement systems.
  • Interpret engineering drawings, specifications, GD&T, and other technical documentation to determine inspection requirements and appropriate measurement methods.
  • Document inspection and test results accurately and maintain complete, traceable quality records.
  • Verify product identification, material traceability, configuration, and required documentation throughout the inspection process.
  • Identify, document, segregate, and communicate nonconforming material or product; support nonconformance evaluation, disposition, rework verification, and corrective actions as assigned.
  • Verify that measurement and inspection equipment is properly calibrated and suitable for use; report equipment that is damaged, out of calibration, or otherwise unsuitable.
  • Support product qualifications, RMA evaluations, and other quality-related inspections as required.
  • Work with Production, Engineering, and Quality personnel to investigate defects, resolve quality issues, and identify opportunities for process and product improvement.
  • Follow established QMS procedures and work instructions and support compliance with applicable quality requirements, including
ISO 9001.
  • Participate in internal audits, corrective action activities, and other quality system activities as assigned.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and controlled inspection area and follow applicable safety, ESD, environmental, and contamination-control requirements.
  • Train and advise the production team on quality control measures to improve product excellence.
Skills and Qualifications:
  • 2+ years of experience in quality inspection, manufacturing inspection, or a precision manufacturing environment. Experience inspecting printed circuit boards and electronic component assembly preferred.
  • IPC standards certified preferred.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, GD&T, and work instructions.
  • Proficiency with precision measurement and inspection equipment, including calipers, micrometers, indicators, height gauges, microscopes, and optical measurement systems.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to perform accurate, repeatable measurements and identify discrepancies or defects.
  • Ability to recognize and communicate nonconformances and quality concerns and determine when escalation or additional verification is required.
  • Basic computer skills and ability to use quality, ERP, document management, and other electronic systems.
  • Ability to work independently and effectively with Production, Engineering, and Quality personnel.
  • Familiarity with
ISO 9001
quality management systems and quality control principles is preferred.
Education:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
