Job Description

Position Summary The Receiving Inspector is responsible for performing visual and dimensional inspections of incoming raw materials, time- and temperature-sensitive materials, hardware, and in-process parts. This position ensures materials and components meet required standards for quality, workmanship, appearance, quantity, and conformity to applicable specifications. The Receiving Inspector also reviews accompanying documentation for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with established requirements. Primary Responsibilities The successful candidate will be responsible for but not limited to the following: Ensure that all incoming materials (purchased parts, customer supplied parts, fabricated parts, and OSP parts) are acceptable for use: Perform general visual inspection Verify quantity accuracy Ensure parts are not damaged Ensure parts are received with the proper supporting documentation Ensure accuracy of order and verify certification and conformity to production specifications. Certify parts are from an approved source and for use Determine if all parts and materials are serviceable or unserviceable Record all non-conforming discrepancies. Verify test results of purchased sheet metal to the appropriate AMS specification. Inspect purchased parts, customer supplied parts, fabricated parts, and OSP parts for conformance to specifications with attention to criteria to indicate possible unapproved parts condition. Ensure all vendors used for maintenance are listed in the AVL. Utilizes various inspection tools such as calipers, micrometers, thread gauges, checks dimensions/processes on parts or raw material to ensure compliance to manufacturing drawings/blueprints/specifications. Works closely with Quality Control Inspectors to ensure that all manufacturing / maintenance and inspection activities are performed in compliance with work documents. Inspect expedited items in a timely manner. Approves or rejects items, and records inspection and disposition information. Communicate with vendors on discrepancies and facilitate returns and replacements, properly mark and record rejected material. Maintain cleanliness and organization Receiving Inspection area. Responsible for maintaining Part Rejection, Calibration logs and initiating the Adhesives history log ensuring accuracy. Must have a thorough understanding of the receiving inspection system, procedures, and work instructions, and any applicable FAA regulations. Ability to read and interpret documents to determine company/customer requirements-Certs Supports company initiatives and complies with safety regulations Manage Calibrated tools by scheduling calibration services, checking and verifying no items that are out of calibration are being used. Update calibration dates in Corridor and maintain calibration certs Manage Shelf-Life Items by reviewing reports in Corridor and complete a physical inventory of stock room, layup room, paint shop, & freezer to verify all products are labeled properly and have a valid expiration date. Locate and pull any expired products, place a red expired label and place in Quarantine Maintain Quarantine log Update item location or delete lot in Corridor Send a monthly report to purchasing on items approaching expiration so they can reorder or recert as needed. Perform additional duties and responsibilities assigned to support business and departmental needs.
