Job Description

The Technology Quality Technician is responsible for conducting quality control activities, including inspections, tests and results reporting. The Technology Quality Technician combines practical skills with understanding of the overall Quality Management System and the impact of nonconformances on the performance of equipment and systems.
  • Inspect documentation, parts, components, materials, subassemblies and equipment against stated specifications, using measurement systems with valid calibration and acceptable repeatability and reproducibility. Comply with applicable inspection procedures and standard work.
  • Assist in designing tests and fixtures and their set-up.
  • Ensure all inspection and test activities are conducted safely. Participate in creation and review of Hazard Analysis and Risk Control for these activities.
  • When authorized, perform calibration of measurement systems.
  • Be familiar with inspection and test procedures, standard work and test plans, and provide input to continuously improve them.
  • Document the results of inspections and tests.
Verify the stability of results over time, as feasible. Use the guiding principles and tools of the Manufacturing System to drive continuous improvement, wherever applicable. Key Responsibilities Perform inspections on machined metal parts (primarily tubular components, under 8 inches diameter and up to ~5 feet long) Conduct manual inspections Use inspection equipment including calipers, micrometers, thread gauges, plug gauges, and similar measurement tools Interpret mechanical drawings and specifications Document inspection results and communicate findings, including nonconformances Collaborate with engineers on inspection outcomes
Required Experience & Skills Must-Have:
Mechanical dimensional inspection experience Hands-on experience using manual inspection tools such as calipers, micrometers, thread gauges, and plug gauges Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings Hands-on dimensional inspection experience Strong attention to detail Good verbal and written communication skills
Nice-to-Have:
SAP experience Experience in oil & gas or similar manufacturing environments, but adjacent manufacturing industries are welcome. The most important qualification is experience performing mechanical dimensional inspections. General QA/QC experience without mechanical inspection experience is less relevant for this role. Shift:
6:00 AM
  • 2:30 PM, Monday
  • Friday Occasional overtime may be available on an ad hoc basis, particularly during peak business periods, but is not expected to be routine.
