JOB SUMMARY
The Quality Control Inspector III will inspect products, materials, and components to ensure compliance with established quality standards and specifications. This role involves conducting routine checks, testing, and measurements of machined and assembled goods to detect defects or deviations from design specifications. You will be a part of a Quality team dedicated to maintaining high-quality output to ensure overall customer satisfaction.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Support the Advance Product Quality Planning (APQP) process for new products. Perform product layouts as part of the Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) for new product launches. Create inspection plans. Work with the Quality Manager and Quality Engineer supporting MRB activities. Work with other departments, such as engineering, to help validate processes and advise on quality stages for in-line inspection. Perform product layouts as part of the First Piece Verification Process and In-Process inspections, working to achieve both accuracy and minimal downtime. Accept Raw Materials and Inspections using precision measuring devices and CMMs. Facilitate the calibration of equipment requiring external validation. Ensure gages for jobs are up to date on calibration prior to release to the production floor. Maintain job files, production data, and calibration data for product and data retention records. Participate in product and process quality audits as directed. Support responsibilities from both Quality Control Inspector I & II roles, as needed. Any other quality-related function as assigned by the Quality Manager or Quality Leads.
WHAT YOU BRING TO UPC
Required High school diploma or GED required with 5+ years in the manufacturing, quality, metrology, or engineering industry Ability to work constructively with others, demonstrated dependability, effective verbal and written communication skills, heightened attention to detail and ability to follow through, and commitment to team & collaboration. Advanced Blueprint Reading Preferred Beginner knowledge of auditing (AS9100, ISO9001, Internal). Working knowledge of inspection and CMM; knowledge of GD&T. Advanced knowledge of metrology/gaging. Advanced knowledge of quality tools and lab equipment. Advanced understanding of problem solving tools (8D, 5-Why, Fishbone Analysis, etc.). Intermediate knowledge of inspection stamping processes.

WORKING CONDITIONS
Work is performed on-site in an office/warehouse environment with frequent interruptions and schedule variances based on business needs. No special coordination beyond normal mobility, handling of everyday objects and materials, and use of office equipment is necessary to perform the job satisfactorily.
