Job Description

Quality Assurance Inspector Performs inspections, checks, and tests for quality control for the manufacture of products. Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within this particular field. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of tasks. Works under general supervision. A certain degree of creativity and latitude is required. Reports to a Quality Assurance Manager. Requires good problem-solving skills.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Uses processes and procedures, implements and supports all on-going company Quality objectives that assure and improve product quality. Receiving inspection, process control and outgoing products. Participates in quality audits, uses tools internally to control quality and monitor its improvement and detect areas in need of improvement. Follow processes and procedures implemented including but limited to JIT ISO process and procedures. The Quality Assurance inspector is responsible for:
  • To follow and encourage successes and achievements in the area of Quality
  • To entertain and promote bi-directional communications throughout dept and shop floor.
  • Inspection of and disposition all incoming materials.
  • Following and adhering to the inspection and testing procedures for finished products.
  • Responsible to learn each customer's quality needs and work with them.
  • Inspection and audit of in process work
  • Recommend corrective actions necessary to ensure conformity with quality standards and specifications. Supplier Quality
  • Responsible to learn each vendor's capabilities and quality standards and advise purchasing as needed.
  • Issues non-conformances document for all non-conforming purchased parts and products and work with purchasing. Tools and knowledge
  • Have a good understanding of "Precision Sheet Metal"
  • Have a good understanding of flat pattern progression (layout)
  • The ability to identify various types of materials
  • Understands geometric tolerance.
  • The ability to Identify types of finishes and inspect for defects.
  • The ability to read blue prints and mechanical drawings a must.
  • Able to read dial and digital calipers, micrometer, digital height gauge and tools of the trade.
Schedule The Quality team will be required to support all shifts. Must be willing to work OT and weekends when needed. Training and Development To be a quality advocate and actively listen to employees and customers to help solve problems. 1. To work with the management team to identify areas of training need and to provide appropriate options. 2. To be a resource to and work with the management teams and actively support their Quality efforts. 3. Have working knowledge of all JIT's ISO processes. 4. Able to write up
Quality Issues Pay:
$27.00 - $31.00 per hour Expected hours: No less than 40.0 per week
