Job Description
Lakehouse Industries is an ITAR compliant, ISO 9001 and AS 9100 certified manufacturing company focused on industrial precision CNC manufacturing. We are seeking an experienced quality professional to own our quality management system and our inspection lab. This position is the quality department. You will maintain and improve the AS 9100 quality management system, program and operate our CMM, perform first article and in-process and final inspections, write the in-process inspection procedures that keep a running job in tolerance, and certify parts before they ship. You will work directly with ownership, the production engineers, and our customers' quality organizations. You will also serve as an internal auditor for the quality management system, manage the calibration program for our measuring equipment, complete AS 9102 First Article Inspection Reports, and assemble the reports for the key performance indicators the quality management system requires. Because we are a compact manufacturing facility, you will see the whole path a part takes, from the purchase order and the drawing review through receiving inspection, production, final inspection, and the customer quality package that ships with the parts. This position has room to grow in the direction of your aptitude and interests, whether that is deeper on metrology, on the quality system itself, or on supplier and customer quality. Requirements All applicants must have all of the following qualifications: 3+ years in a quality role in a machining or precision manufacturing environment Hands-on experience maintaining or auditing a quality management system Experience programming and operating a coordinate measuring machine (CMM) Ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings and apply GD&T to

Proficient with precision inspection tools Strong mathematical skills, with an interest or strength in trigonometry, statistics, and/or algebra. Strong analysis, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills Strong written and oral communication skills with the ability to summarize and explain Solid organizational skills with attention to detail in time and thought management Aptitude for math, problem-solving, computers, and mechanics Ability to perform tasks, follow instructions, and learn with minimal supervision Working knowledge of safety protocols Familiarity with common shop and manufacturing processes, operations, and workflows Ability to learn new software Proficient with Google Suite (Drive, Docs, Sheets, Calendar, and Gmail) Ability to lift 50 lbs. Ability to climb stairs A valid driver's license Ability to undergo a background check and drug test The ideal candidate will also have some to all of the following (you will be asked how many of these apply to you): Internal auditor or lead auditor training for AS 9100 orISO 9001
Experience as the primary contact during a registrar surveillance audit or a customer source inspection Experience programming a specific CMM software package PC-DMIS, Calypso, Verisurf, PolyWorks, CMM Manager, or similar Experience writing root cause and corrective action investigations Experience managing a calibration recall program and outside calibration vendors Experience with special process suppliers Familiarity with anodizing, chem film, passivation, and heat treat Familiarity with ITAR and export control handling requirements Familiarity with Fulcrum or other ERP software Experience with CAD/CAM software (Fusion 360, SolidWorks, or similar) Knowledge of the properties of metal and other material Experience operating CNC machines Experience with receiving inspection, purchasing, or supplier quality Job Duties Quality management system Maintain the AS 9100 quality management system Document control Corrective and preventive action Nonconformance handling Management review Serve as an internal auditor for the quality management system and run the internal audit schedule Prepare the shop for registrar audits and customer audits Compile and report the key performance indicators required by the quality management system, and present the results at management review Investigate quality escapes with root cause analysis and verify that the corrective action worked Recommend adjustments to the production process and quality management system Additional duties as required as the job shifts over time Inspection and metrology Program and operate the CMM, and build reusable inspection programs for repeat jobs Perform first article, in-process, and final inspection on machined parts Write in-process inspection procedures and inspection plans, and set the check frequencies that keep a running job in tolerance Complete AS 9102 First Article Inspection Reports and other inspection reports. Manage calibration of measuring equipment Recall schedule and calibration records Coordinate outside calibration vendors Customer and supplier quality Certify parts and prepare certificates of conformance and customer quality packages Review customer purchase orders and drawings for quality requirements and flow those requirements down to production and to suppliers Support supplier quality, including approved supplier records and receiving inspection General Observe and follow company safety rules and regulations Generate supporting documentation required by the QMS such as, but not limited to, nonconformance reports, corrective or preventive action reports, and receiving inspections Perform data collection and data entry for relevant internal documents Participate in team meetings about production and/or the quality management system Keep equipment and work areas clean and organized Contribute to the team effort by performing other tasks as assignedPay:
