Job Description
Quality Technician Responsible for assuring all customer and company quality expectations are being satisfied at all manufacturing and inspection process steps. Identify and implement continuous quality improvement activities. Provides directions to quality inspectors. Helps with containments of product and root cause investigations. Escalates problems to management and make recommendations for solutions. Who are we? Founded in 1849, Ducommun is the oldest company in California. We specialize in electronic and structural systems, producing complex products and components for commercial aircraft platforms, mission-critical military and space programs, and sophisticated industrial applications. Our Facility in Appleton, WI manufactures state-of-the-art circuit boards for Aerospace and Defense as well as Industrial and Medical Industries. Job Summary Creating, maintaining, and supporting External Source Inspectors and their documentation packets.
Visually inspects products using a scope or other tools to IPC-A-610 and customer specifications.
Support New Product Introduction (NPI) Creating, maintaining Certificate of Conformance for assemblies, parts.
Complete Source Inspection activities where Ducommun has that approval.
Lead assembly product containments, including production holds, product failure in DCO inspection system, root cause and investigations.
Supporting Manufacture Engineering efforts, such as Product Binder Approvals, Traceability data requirements, and customer documentation reviews.
Maintaining / Reviewing Quality Records (Test Records, DHRS, SMRS, etc.)
Auditing production floor for continuous quality improvements.
Assists team members with CAPA responses. Required Education and Experience High School Diploma.
3+ years of experience in quality technician role Intermediate level computer proficiency, including proficient with Microsoft Office - Outlook and Excel.
Intermediate Knowledge of Circuit Board Manufacturing Processes, Procedures and Standards
Read electronic and dimensional data to the closest tolerance, exercising a thorough knowledge of and ability to use such a wide variety of precision instruments.
Good written and verbal skills and ability to interact with people at all levels inside and outside of Ducommun.
Good organization and documentation skills; attention to detail is critical.
Demonstrate the ability to communicate with customers and project company image to attract business.
Decision making and Problem-Solving Skills
Consistently completes assignments or work requirements on time without compromising on quality. Preferred Skills and Experience Intermediate Knowledge in the following industry standards including:
