Job Description

W.E. Hoban Company is looking for a Quality Engineering Technician to join our team! The Quality Engineering Technician is responsible for supporting the development, implementation, and maintenance of 3D scanning and measurement systems. This role focuses heavily on programming for advanced inspection technologies, data reporting, and integration with quality systems. The ideal candidate will have strong technical capabilities in metrology software and 3D data analysis, with a proactive approach to supporting quality assurance processes. Who are we? W.E. Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Program and operate part inspection systems for precision part inspection. Develop automated measurement routines, macros, and reporting functions within metrology software platforms. Analyze inspection data and generate reports for PPAPs, customer submissions, and internal verification. Collaborate with quality engineers and technicians to troubleshoot and optimize inspection programs. Support the development of inspection plans based on print requirements and GD&T. Assist in evaluating and implementing new inspection technologies and measurement equipment. Maintain accurate and organized records of inspection programs, revisions, and outputs. Participate in continuous improvement initiatives focused on dimensional verification processes. Train technicians and team members on scanning procedures, programming best practices, and software use. Support internal and external audits with relevant inspection data and capabilities. Perform additional duties as assigned by supervisor or management based on business needs.
Required Skills and Abilities:
Strong experience with quality inspection systems and metrology software Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and apply GD&T. Detail-oriented with excellent problem-solving and analytical skills. Strong organizational and documentation skills. Comfortable working independently and cross-functionally. Familiarity with ISO 9001 and
IATF 16949
quality systems preferred.
Education and Experience:
Associate or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Technology, Quality, or a related field. Minimum of 2-5 years of experience in a quality engineering or dimensional inspection role. Hands-on experience with part inspection, 3D scanning, or related measurement programming required. Experience supporting PPAP or customer dimensional submissions is a plus.
Schedule:
Monday through Friday from 7:30am - 4:30pm or 8am -5pm.
