Job Description

Job Title:
Quality Inspector Job Description The Quality Inspector will support a growing quality team within a manufacturing environment. This individual will be responsible for performing hands-on inspections across incoming materials, in-process production, and finished goods to ensure products meet quality standards and specifications. This role requires strong attention to detail and the ability to work directly on the production floor using inspection tools and measurement equipment. The inspector will also support quality investigations, documentation, and continuous improvement efforts. Responsibilities Perform incoming, in-process, and final product inspections to ensure quality standards are met. Use inspection tools such as micrometers, calipers, PMI guns, and tape measures. Develop and update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for accuracy related to the work performed. Identify and document quality issues or discrepancies and escalate as needed. Support quality investigations and corrective actions (CAPAs). Complete quality documentation in accordance with procedures. Ensure compliance with quality standards and internal processes. Work closely with production, engineering, and quality teams to resolve issues. Assist in continuous improvement efforts related to quality and inspection processes. Additional Skills & Qualifications High School Diploma or Associate degree. 1-3+ years of experience in a manufacturing or production environment with direct exposure to quality inspection processes. Experience handling finished products and/or fabricated components, ideally in environments dealing with heavy or large-scale materials. Computer knowledge, including Microsoft Office Products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.). Ability to read and interpret product drawings and specifications, purchase orders, SOPs, and Work Instructions. Proven ability to use basic precision measurement tools, including digital and/or manual calipers, tape measures, and micrometers. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Madison, WI. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $30.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
