In this role, you'll play a key part in ensuring product quality by preparing metallurgical samples, inspecting incoming materials, and supporting machining operations with critical quality verification. This position supports metallurgical testing, incoming inspection, and machining quality activities within our production environment. The role helps ensure that materials, components, and finished parts meet the high quality standards our customers expect. What You'll Do Metallurgy Laboratory Support Prepare and cut material samples for metallurgical analysis Perform sample preparation including mounting, grinding, polishing, and etching Label, document, and track samples through the evaluation process Assist laboratory personnel with metallurgical inspections and testing Maintain cleanliness and organization of laboratory equipment and work areas Incoming Inspection Perform inspection of incoming materials and components according to quality procedures Verify dimensional, visual, and documentation requirements for purchased materials Record inspection results and maintain inspection documentation Identify nonconforming materials and initiate containment procedures Assist with supplier quality investigations when issues arise Machining Quality Support Assist machining operations with in-process inspections and dimensional verification Use inspection tools such as calipers, micrometers, gauges, and measuring instruments Support first article inspections and production validation activities Assist with containment activities related to machining quality issues Maintain proper documentation and traceability of inspection results Tools & Equipment You'll Use Metallurgical cutting saws Grinding and polishing equipment Calipers, micrometers, and height gauges Optical inspection equipment Inspection fixtures and gauges Quality documentation and data systems What We're Looking For Education High School Diploma or equivalent Experience 1-3 years of experience in manufacturing, quality inspection, or laboratory environments preferred Skills & Competencies Strong attention to detail Ability to follow standardized procedures and inspection plans Basic understanding of manufacturing and machining processes Ability to read technical drawings and specifications preferred Strong organizational and documentation skills Ability to work both independently and collaboratively with cross-functional teams About Poclain Hydraulics Poclain Hydraulics designs and manufactures innovative hydraulic systems used in equipment around the world.
