Challenge Job Summary:
The QA Technician Lead will perform any number of tasks relating to the inspection and measurement of finished goods to ensure they meet our Quality Standards.
Essential Functions:
Use blueprints and other customer supplied data to check requirements. Using inspection equipment and customer supplied data ensure parts meet requirements, such as geometric tolerances. Inspect set-up, in process and final piece parts. Communicate discrepancies to appropriate areas. Gather SPC data and determine process capability. Maintain quality control standards and procedures. Instruct operators when necessary. Communicate opportunities for process improvement. Maintain all fixtures and tooling in the department. Completion, update and sign off job specific set-up documentation. Attend courses or seminars and assist on project teams when asked. Resolve quality issues with customers, issue RMAs, and follow-up on corrective actions. Responsible for source inspection and customer audits. Train employees within the department and provide feedback to employees and management. Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
Strong written & verbal communication skills. Quality minded, strong attention to detail. Basic math ability. Basic measuring ability. Problem identification and solution. Cooperation with innovation and continuous improvement High school diploma, or equivalent. Minimum 2 year's previous experience in the Quality Field as a Technician, Inspector, SPC Coordinator, or Quality Lead Person. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Mechanical Inspection, Blueprint reading, SPC geometric tolerancing, Autocad, gauge and calibration experience, military standards, electronic gauging, receipt inspections, machining knowledge, comparometer usage, cmm experience.
Work Environment:
Exposure to loud noise, moving mechanical parts, and varying temperatures. Personal protective equipment (PPE) required. Hands-on role requiring standing, manual dexterity, and occasional lifting of materials or fixturing. Ability to stand for extended periods. Ability to lift up to 40 lbs repetitively. Strong emphasis on quality, safety, and craftsmanship. This position may involve exposure to, but is not limited to, the following materials:
Carbon Steel, Stainless Steel, Alloy Steel, Cast Iron, Aluminum, Bronze, Brass, & Copper Schedule:
First Shift 7:00 AM-3:30 PM; Second Shift 3:00 PM-1:00
