Job Description
Job Summary Serves as a critical member of the sewing operation by producing quality products that meet production quotas. Works as a collaborative member of the team helping to reach overall department goals and objectives. Essential Duties Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform these essential functions . Proficient in sewing single needle, double needle and surge machine meeting quality and production standards. Experience working on industrial sewing machines, meeting production rates. Able to move from one operation to the next, open to learning new operations and products. Works with speed and accuracy, attentive to detail and follows all safety protocols. Thread sewing machine for team members and help blind coworkers when needed. Adjust machines to ensure proper stitch count. Perform repairs for sewing defects and monitors product to verify high quality standards Successfully completes any other duties and responsibilities designated by supervision Able to perform 3 or more operations and felling while meeting production and quality standards is needed for a level II or III Supervisory Responsibilities None Required Skills and Abilities Use standard tools such as snips, scissors, tweezers, needle threaders, etc. Thread machines, change bobbins and needles, start machine, align materials, control pedal, and sew straight lines Strong understanding of quality standards for assigned tasks and verify that product quality is acceptable Distinguish between standard types of stitches and seams, able to measure stitches, read standard ruler, or otherwise ensure highly quality standards in production of products Excellent attention to detail Able to stand and use external dexterities for an entire shift Physical Requirements Ability to stand for an entire 8-hour shift while continuously working on a sewing machine Prolonged periods of moving, twisting, reaching and turning materials to complete assigned tasks Requires memory recall of detailed instructions and safety protocol Ability to stand 8 hours a da Ability to keep hand and arm steady while moving operating sewing machine Other Duties Please note this job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this job.
