Position Summary:
A Machine Shop Helper assists machinists and production personnel by preparing materials, maintaining equipment, and keeping the shop organized to support safe and efficient manufacturing operations.
Essential Job Duties:
  • Assist machinists with setting up machines and preparing materials for production.
  • Load and unload raw materials, finished products, and machine components.
  • Deburr, grind, sand, polish, and clean machined parts to meet quality standards.
  • Measure and inspect parts using basic measuring tools such as tape measures, calipers, and micrometers.
  • Operate basic shop equipment, including band saws, drill presses, grinders, and material handling equipment.
  • Clean and maintain CNC machines, lathes, mills, and other shop equipment.
  • Organize tools, materials, and workstations to ensure an efficient workflow.
  • Package, label, and prepare finished products for shipping or storage.
  • Assist with inventory, stocking supplies, and receiving materials.
  • Safely operate forklifts, pallet jacks, or overhead cranes.
  • Remove scrap materials and maintain a clean, safe work environment.
  • Follow all OSHA safety regulations and company policies.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Shop Supervisor or Lead Machinist. Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Previous manufacturing, warehouse, or machine shop experience is preferred but not required.
  • Basic mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn machining processes.
  • Ability to read a tape measure; experience with calipers and other measuring tools is a plus.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds frequently.
  • Ability to stand, bend, kneel, and work in a fast-paced industrial environment.
Pay $ 18.00 Schedule 7:00 am - 5:00 pm
