Maintenance Supervisor Temporary postion for 10 weeks. Job Summary The Boiler Operator role is responsible for operating and maintaining stationary engines, boilers, and mechanical equipment to provide utilities for buildings or industrial processes. The incumbent will ensure safe, efficient operation of steam, heating, and cooling systems, and perform preventive maintenance to minimize downtime. Essential Duties & Responsibilities- Operate and monitor boilers, chillers, pumps, compressors, and HVAC systems.
- Inspect gauges, meters, and safety devices to detect malfunctions and ensure compliance with safety standards.
- Adjust valves and controls to regulate steam, water, and fuel flow.
- Test boiler water quality and apply corrective treatments to prevent corrosion and scaling.
- Maintain accurate logs of operational data and maintenance activities.
- Respond promptly to alarms and troubleshoot mechanical issues.
- Perform scheduled preventive maintenance and assist in repairs.
- All other duties as assigned.
- High school diploma or equivalent with a Technical or associate degree in mechanical engineering or related field preferred.
- Valid Stationary Engineer License (state-specific; e.g., First Class for MA)
- CFC handling, CSHE, BOCA certification is preferred.
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience in boiler and mechanical systems operation.
- Experience with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).
- Manufacturing industry experience preferred.
