12-hour rotating shift (8-week rotation): 2 days (6:00am•6:00pm), 2 nights (6:00pm-6:00am), then 4 days off

$25•43/hr About the role Join a large industrial utilities team supporting a well-established multi-building manufacturing/industrial campus in Rochester. You will operate and maintain industrial boilers, steam distribution, compressed air, industrial water systems, and refrigeration/water treatment equipment. Working hands-on in the plant and monitoring/adjusting systems through a DCS. What you'll do Perform routine inspections of boiler room, refrigeration, and water treatment systems; document operating data; adjust controls as needed Operate/monitor boilers, turbines, water treatment plant, and distribution systems in coordination with shift operations teams Support repairs on equipment and distribution piping as needed Sample/test chemical treatment systems and unload bulk chemicals Support shutdowns/startups, including lockout/tagout (LO/TO) Maintain equipment housekeeping and operability Help develop/update standard operating procedures Perform maintenance tasks as needed (refrigerant handling, leak repair, pump packing adjustments, etc.) Support overhead distribution piping systems Complete required recordkeeping/inspections and follow all safety protocols What we're looking for High school diploma or GED 2+ years in an operator/mechanic role (industrial environment preferred) Working knowledge helpful in: refrigeration systems, cooling towers, water treatment, piping systems, building structures, steam turbines Strong communication skills; able to work across all levels of an organization Proficient with MS Office Ability to learn industrial software quickly (examples used on site may include CMMS, compliance/tagging tools, DCS/HMI platforms, and historian software; expected ramp-up ~3-4 months) Valid driver's license with proof of insurance Licensing / certifications (must obtain after hire) City of Rochester S-3 Stationary Engineer License within 14 months City of Rochester R-4 Refrigeration Operator License within 18 months NYSDOH 2a Water Treatment Operator certification within 16 months US EPA Universal Refrigerant Handling certification within 12 months Work environment & physical requirements Work in hot/cold ambient conditions at times; moderate plant noise levels Travel between buildings on a large industrial campus; appropriate PPE required Occasional bending/walking/carrying equipment; must be able to lift up to 50 lbs Must be able to work the rotating shift schedule described above System One, and its subsidiaries including Joulé and Mountain Ltd., are leaders in delivering outsourced services and workforce solutions across North America.
