Kiln Operator

Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Kiln Operator to join our manufacturing team. In this vital role, you will oversee the operation of kilns used in the production of ceramics, and other heat-treated products. Your expertise will ensure that kiln processes run smoothly, safely, and efficiently, contributing to the high-quality output our company is known for. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with advanced machinery and precision measurement tools while maintaining strict safety standards. Duties Operate and monitor kilns, ensuring optimal temperature control and uniform heat distribution for consistent product quality Interpret technical drawings, manufacturing specifications, and process instructions to set up kiln parameters accurately Maintain detailed records of kiln operations, temperature profiles, and measurement data to ensure compliance with safety and quality standards Conduct routine inspections of kiln components and auxiliary equipment, including thermocouples, controllers, and safety devices Troubleshoot mechanical issues using hand tools and mechanical knowledge to minimize downtime and optimize production flow Follow safety protocols rigorously during all operations to prevent accidents and ensure a safe working environment Requirements Proven experience operating kilns or similar high-temperature equipment in a manufacturing setting Ability to interpret technical drawings, CAD (Computer-Aided Design) files, and technical specifications accurately Basic math skills for calculating temperature settings, measurements, and process adjustments Knowledge of safety standards in production environments related to kiln operation and handling of ceramics Experience with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) for process automation is a plus Excellent attention to detail with a focus on precision measurement (dimensional accuracy) and product quality assurance Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members and report operational data clearly Join us as a Kiln Operator if you're passionate about manufacturing excellence, safety compliance, and working with cutting-edge heat treatment technology.
