$20.00 - $23.00 (Compensation is determined by a combination of an individual's relevant work experience, skills, education, certifications) Purpose Trillium Flow Technologies is seeking a detail-oriented Underfiler to join our Fresno Machine Shop team. Reporting directly to the Machine Shop Supervisor, this position is responsible for performing precision hand-finishing operations on pump components, including underfiling, deburring, polishing, sharpening impeller vanes, and balancing impellers to engineering specifications. The ideal candidate takes pride in producing high-quality workmanship, follows established quality and safety standards, and thrives in a manufacturing environment where precision and attention to detail are critical. Key Responsibilities Including, but not limited to: Perform underfiling, balancing, polishing, and finishing operations on ferrous, non-ferrous, and specialty alloy pump components. Hand polish and slurry polish impellers and other pump parts to specified surface finish requirements. Deburr machined parts prior to routing to subsequent manufacturing operations or Quality Control inspection. Utilize pneumatic grinders, pencil grinders, belt grinders, electric disc grinders, carbide tools, files, abrasive discs, scales, static balancers, and dynamic balancing equipment. Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, Job Operation Listings, process sheets, charts, and written work instructions. Verify finished parts meet dimensional, quality, and finish specifications. Detect and report defective materials, tooling issues, equipment malfunctions, drawing discrepancies, and other manufacturing concerns to supervision. Replace grinding wheels, sanding belts, carbide tools, abrasive discs, blades, and other consumable tooling as required. Assist the Machine Shop Supervisor in establishing labor standards for new or complex manufacturing processes. Maintain clean and organized work areas in accordance with 5S and housekeeping standards. Follow all safety requirements, ISO 9001 Quality Management System requirements, andISO 14001
Environmental Management System requirements. Comply with company policies, Code of Conduct, attendance expectations, and all applicable procedures. Perform other duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications Education High School Diploma or GED required. Experience Minimum 1 year of experience performing deburring, polishing, underfiling, grinding, or similar finishing operations preferred. Minimum 1 year of experience working in a manufacturing or industrial environment preferred. Experience using hand tools and powered grinding equipment preferred. Experience wearing and working with respirator protection preferred. Preferred Qualifications Experience working with precision-machined components. Ability to read mechanical drawings and blueprints. Experience balancing rotating equipment or pump components. Familiarity with measuring equipment and dimensional inspection. Strong attention to detail with a commitment to producing high-quality work. Work Environment The work environment is a manufacturing machine shop with exposure to moving mechanical equipment, grinding operations, and varying noise levels.
