Bay Area Railings builds and installs architectural metal railings, gates and stairs. We run our own powder coating in-house and need a coater who already knows the trade and can run the line with little supervision. What you'll do:
- Prep steel and aluminum: sandblasting, degreasing, masking and plugging
- Hang parts, spray powder with electrostatic guns, and run the cure oven
- Apply two-coat systems (primer plus topcoat) and hit film thickness to spec
- Check finished parts for runs, thin spots and orange peel, and fix them
- Keep the booth, guns and oven clean and running
- Handle color changes and track powder use What we need:
- At least 2 years of hands-on powder coating (painting alone doesn't count)
- Able to read a mil gauge and tell good coverage from bad by eye
- Able to lift 50 lbs and stand all shift
- Reliable commute to San Pablo Nice to have: experience with Tiger Drylac or Cardinal powders, sandblasting, and running a batch oven.
Schedule:
Full-time, Monday to Friday, day shift.
