Tool Room Supervisor / Engineering Manager Position Summary The Tool Room Technician is responsible for the maintenance, repair, setup, troubleshooting, and fabrication of tooling used in roll forming operations. This role ensures roll tooling, dies, spacers, shafts, and related equipment are maintained to production standards to support quality, efficiency, and continuous operation of roll forming lines. Key Responsibilities Maintain, inspect, repair, and refurbish roll forming tooling, dies, punches, and related equipment. Perform tooling setup, alignment, and adjustments to ensure proper product dimensions and quality. Diagnose and troubleshoot tooling issues that affect production performance, product quality, or machine efficiency. Operate manual and CNC machine tools, including lathes, milling machines, grinders, drill presses, and surface grinders. Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, tooling layouts, and specifications. Manufacture replacement tooling components and fixtures as required. Measure and inspect tooling using precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, calipers, dial indicators, and height gauges. Support roll changeovers and assist production teams during set-up and startup activities. Maintain tooling inventory and document repairs, modifications, and maintenance activities. Collaborate with engineering and production personnel to improve tooling performance and reduce downtime. Follow preventive maintenance schedules for tooling and equipment. Ensure compliance with all safety, quality, and housekeeping standards. Required Qualifications High school diploma or GED required; technical or vocational training preferred. 3+ years of experience in a tool room, machining, or roll forming manufacturing environment. Strong understanding of roll forming tooling, dies, shafts, spacers, and related equipment. Proficiency in operating manual machining equipment and precision measuring instruments. Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and engineering specifications. Knowledge of tooling maintenance, alignment, and troubleshooting techniques. Basic computer skills for maintenance records and inventory management. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Preferred Qualifications Experience with CNC machining and programming. Knowledge of metal forming processes and sheet metal manufacturing. Experience with preventive maintenance systems. Forklift and overhead crane experience. Pay:
$29.00 - $35.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 - 55.0 per week
