Position Summary Riverfront Machine is seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Tooling Associate to support tool room operations and production tooling needs. The Tool Room Operator is responsible for supporting tool room operations through the machining, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of production tools, dies, and fixtures. This position performs precision machining and assembly work to ensure tooling meets engineering specifications and supports reliable production operations. The role includes reading blueprints, setting up and operating manual machining equipment, determining proper machining methods, and inspecting components using precision measuring tools. The Tool Room Operator also assists with new tool and fixture builds and safely handles large tooling using forklifts and hoists. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and work instructions. Set up and operate mills, lathes, and radial drill presses safely and efficiently. Determine proper machining speeds, feeds, tooling, and methods for various materials. Machine precision components for tools, dies, and fixtures. Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair production tooling and fixtures. Lay out, assemble, and assist with new tools and fixtures. Inspect components using precision measuring tools and verify conformance to specifications. Troubleshoot tooling and machining issues and determine appropriate corrective actions. Safely dismantle, handle, and position tooling using forklifts and hoists. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area. Assist and provide guidance to less-experienced team members when needed. Follow all company safety, quality, and operating procedures. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications Associate degree or certificate in machine shop technology or a related field or 2+ years of machinist or tool room machining experience. Strong blueprint reading and precision machining skills. Experience operating mills, lathes, and other tool room equipment. Ability to use precision measuring and inspection tools. Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills. Ability to work accurately with close tolerances. Knowledge of tooling materials, machining practices, speeds, and feeds. Journeyman Tool & Die experience preferred. AutoCAD or similar software experience is a plus. Strong communication, organization, and attention to detail. Placement within the range is based on experience, skills, qualifications, and internal equity. Bonus eligibility, if applicable, is separate and based on performance and company criteria.
