Engineering Manager ROLE Triton Metal Products is seeking an experienced, hands-on Tool & Fixture Maker to build, modify, repair, and improve custom manufacturing fixtures, tooling, and prototypes used throughout our metal fabrication operations. This position works closely with Engineering and Production to turn engineering designs into working shop-floor solutions. The ideal candidate has a strong tool-and-die or manual machining background and is comfortable taking a print or concept and independently determining how to machine, fit, assemble, weld, and finish the components required to make it work. This is not a production machining position. Much of the work is one-off or low-volume tooling, fixtures, prototypes, and problem-solving projects.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Build custom weld fixtures, assembly fixtures, tooling, gauges, and prototypes from engineering prints and models. Machine custom components using Bridgeport-style mills, engine lathes, drill presses, saws, grinders, and other manual shop equipment. Assemble and weld machined, laser-cut, and formed components into completed tooling and fixtures. Repair, modify, and troubleshoot existing fixtures and tooling to quickly resolve production and quality problems. Work with Engineering during design reviews to identify improvements in manufacturability, tolerances, locating, clamping, durability, and ease of use.

REQUIRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS

Strong background in tool and die, toolmaking, manual machining, fixture building, or prototype fabrication. Proficient with manual mills and engine lathes and able to independently machine components from engineering drawings. Strong blueprint reading, dimensional inspection, tolerance, and basic GD&T knowledge. Welding/fabrication experience and strong hands-on mechanical problem-solving ability. Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with Engineering, Quality, and Production.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE

Tool and die apprenticeship or equivalent hands-on experience. Experience building weld fixtures and production tooling. Experience in a metal fabrication, tool room, or job-shop environment. MIG/TIG welding and basic CAD/SolidWorks experience are a plus.
