Monday-Friday; 5:00am-1:30pm Position Summary The Patcher is responsible for patching, repairing, and finishing fiberglass and gelcoat surfaces on boats. This role plays a critical part in ensuring overall product quality, appearance, and safety standards are met or exceeded. Qualifications Previous fiberglass, lamination, or auto body repair experience preferred Ability to work with small hand tools Strong attention to detail with an excellent eye for finish quality Self-motivated and able to follow written and verbal instructions Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment Responsibilities Patch, repair, and finish fiberglass and gelcoat on boats Inspect work to ensure quality standards are met or exceeded on each boat Identify and communicate quality-related issues to management promptly Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area Promote teamwork, quality, and safety within the department Properly clean up tools, materials, and workspaces at the end of tasks and shifts Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures Physical Demands Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, crouch, and reach for extended periods Frequent use of hands and arms for handling tools and materials Ability to lift, push, or pull up to 50lbs Ability to work in confined spaces and awkward positions inside boat hulls Visual acuity required to inspect surfaces for defects and ensure finish quality Respirator Use & PPE Requirements Position requires the use of a respirator while performing certain patching, sanding, or finishing tasks Must be able to successfully complete a respirator medical evaluation, fit test, and training in accordance with company and OSHA requirements Required to wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE), which may include respirators, safety glasses, gloves, protective clothing, and hearing protection Work Environment Work is performed in a manufacturing and assembly environment involving fiberglass and gelcoat processes The position is routinely exposed to heat, particularly during warmer months and in enclosed work areas Exposure to fiberglass dust, sanding debris, fumes, and odors is common; appropriate ventilation and PPE are provided The work area may involve moderate to high noise levels from tools, equipment, and surrounding production activity; hearing protection may be required Adherence to all safety policies, procedures, and PPE requirements is mandatory to ensure a safe working environment
