In this role, you will be responsible for designing, building, maintaining, and repairing precision tools, dies, jigs, and fixtures used in the production process. Your expertise will ensure the highest quality standards in tooling and machining operations, supporting efficient manufacturing workflows. Responsibilities Interpret mechanical blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings using CAD software such as SolidWorks and AutoCAD to develop precise tooling components. Perform manual machining tasks using hand tools, grinders, calipers, micrometers, and other precision measurement instruments to achieve tight tolerances. Conduct welding operations and metal fabrication to assemble or repair tooling components with accuracy. Maintain detailed documentation of tool setups, machining parameters, and inspection results for quality control purposes. Troubleshoot tooling issues by interpreting mechanical schematics and schematics for maintenance, repair, and operations (MRO). Ensure all tools meet safety standards by adhering to shop math principles and quality measurement procedures. Support continuous improvement initiatives by refining machining techniques and tooling designs to improve productivity. Requirements Proven experience as a Journeyman Tool and Die Maker with a strong background in shop math, blueprint interpretation, and precision measurement. Skilled in welding techniques including MIG/TIG welding for tool fabrication or repair. Mechanical knowledge of schematics, electrical discharge machining (EDM), grinders, mills, lathes, calipers, micrometers, and other precision measuring instruments. Ability to interpret mechanical blueprints accurately while applying shop math principles effectively. Experience with maintenance, repair & operations (MRO) procedures related to tooling equipment. Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot machining or tooling issues efficiently. Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members across departments.
