Pay:

up to $33.50/hr plus 7% shift premium

POSITION OVERVIEW

We are seeking experienced Die Maker / Die Tryout professionals (2nd Shift) to support automotive die tryout, validation, and troubleshooting operations. This role is responsible for working on large automotive body dies, evaluating panels, and making tooling adjustments to meet Class A surface and dimensional requirements. The ideal candidate has strong experience in die tryout, press operations, and troubleshooting, and is capable of working independently in a fast-paced production environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND ESSENTIAL DUTIES

Perform die tryout, validation, and troubleshooting on large automotive body dies Evaluate panels using checking fixtures to identify and correct out-of-tolerance conditions Read and interpret CMM data to determine corrective actions Set up and operate presses including straight side and toggle (dual action) presses (500-2000 ton capacity) Perform spotting, barbering, and nesting trim changes to achieve dimensional accuracy and Class A surface quality Interpret die designs and support the die build and tryout process Work closely with Program Managers, Foremen, and team leaders on product changes and new builds Follow ATC die tryout processes , quality standards, and safety procedures including lockout/tagout Maintain productivity and complete work within estimated hours and schedules Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Basic Qualifications Journeyman certification preferred or 8+ years of equivalent die making experience (6+ years minimum required) Strong experience with die tryout, troubleshooting, and automotive stamping processes Experience with large automotive body dies and Class A surface requirements Ability to read and interpret

GD&T, CMM

data, and engineering drawings Experience with draw dies, trim/pierce dies, and restrike operations Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with lifting, standing, and repetitive motion Must possess own tools Authorization to work in the United States Additional Qualifications Experience with welding (TIG/MIG) for die repair and modification Familiarity with SMIRT Die Shop program Strong knowledge of press setup, tonnage, air cushions, nitro cylinders, and die springs Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills Ability to work independently and manage tasks to a schedule Strong understanding of die build processes and tooling adjustments Experience with spotting, barbering, and Class A surface finishing techniques Commitment to safety and quality standards in a production environment The Global Edge Consultants, LLC is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
