Temp to Hire Overview We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Tool & Die Technician to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, fabricating, maintaining, and troubleshooting tools and dies used in manufacturing processes. Your expertise will ensure precision and efficiency in producing high-quality components, supporting our clients' manufacturing operations with innovative tooling solutions. Duties Design and develop tools and dies using CAD software such as SolidWorks and AutoCAD to meet project specifications. Program CNC machines, including CNC lathes and milling machines, to produce precise tooling components. Set up and operate CNC equipment, ensuring adherence to safety standards and quality requirements. Perform electrical discharge machining (EDM) processes for complex die features requiring high precision. Conduct inspections of tooling using precision measuring instruments like micrometers, calipers, and gauges to verify dimensions against schematics and GD&T standards. Maintain detailed documentation of tool fabrication processes, schematics, and machining parameters. Collaborate with manufacturing teams to troubleshoot tooling issues and optimize machining procedures for efficiency. Skills Proficiency in CAD software such as SolidWorks and AutoCAD for designing tools and dies. Strong knowledge of CNC programming for milling machines and lathes. Experience with electrical discharge machining (EDM) techniques. Familiarity with plastics injection molding tooling processes. Ability to interpret schematics, blueprints, GD&T specifications, and electrical diagrams. Skilled in using precision measuring instruments including micrometers, calipers, and dial indicators. Mechanical aptitude with hands-on experience in fabrication, welding, assembly, and machining operations. Knowledge of manufacturing environments involving stamping presses and fabrication equipment.
